1. Halloween Shopping - Let's go buy witch hats, costumes, and food!

2. Halloween Cooking - Try making all those yummy halloween delights! Can you make that pumpkin cake actually look like a pumpkin?

3. Trick or Treating - Don't worry, all the candy is perfectly safe. Even the enchanted ones are quite safe, and will just do cute and safe things like make people float for a couple of minutes, or make them have a crush on any nearby person for about 30 seconds. They may also turn people orange or make them giggle for about 2 minutes.

4. The Haunted House - Filled with cute ghosts and other things that go bump in your night. Oh, my, is that your character's dearly departed mother, taking this occasion to come and visit her child?

5. The Costume Party - Fun for the whole family. Even if they magically turn into their costumes, nothing really dangerous happens - If you want your character to be a cute fluffy vampire or werewolf for a few hours, feel free to do so!

"You'd think in five thousand years, if there was an explanation, someone would have found it?" Claudia pointed out. "You just want to play with the artifacts and call it studying.

"Besides, that snowglobe could hurt someone, in the wrong hands."

"Hey, we just made anti-matter a few years ago. Stuff's still being discovered!" Joshua shrugs. "Maybe I do want to play with them, but... I still think there has to be some way to figure them out."

"I'm well aware, remember? You helped steal it." Claudia would have thought that was a little bit funny, but Josh had gotten hurt.

"Fine, fine. Maybe when I'm in charge, I'll let you do limited research. It's always interesting to see what things pick up on. Tubman's thimble, for example."

"Hey! It wasn't my fault! Asshat manipulated me. Again." He sighs, shaking his head, but breaking out into a huge grin.

"Now that I can handle. There has to be something awesome that I could find out that would help people or even perhaps even help save agents' lives."

"You think I haven't looked? It's easier to weaponize an artifact than help people with one," Claudia said, sighing slightly.

"Mary Malone's butcher knife. Did I tell you about that one?"

"I don't think so? Remind me." Joshua is, as ever, very curious.

"You might remember her as Typhoid Mary. Her knife can cure any disease, but only by giving it to someone else," Claudia said. "Pretty typical, artifact-wise. The bigger the plus, the deadlier the minus."

"Ugh. Yeah, I can see that being a problem." And easily misused. He's still fascinated, though.

"Come on, have fun browsing the stacks on our way to the ovoid. No touching."

While it was a bit of a ways to the warehouse, it was still nice. And she would know if he touched anything.

He smirks. "Oh, don't worry, I will. And I know how to look with my eyes and not my hands." A beat. "Unlike some little sisters I know."

"It's my job as Caretaker-in-waiting to look after the artifacts. They mostly like me. Ignore the smell of apples," Claudia said, shaking her head slightly. Then she punched Joshua in the shoulder.

"Apples? Does Artie have a weird air freshener or something?"

He winces. "Hey! What did I do this time?!"

"You were thinking about experiments. I know you. And no. The warehouse apparently smells of apples when it likes someone. At least, that's what HG said that one time," Claudia said, shaking her head slightly.

"My world is full of madcap and endless wonder."

"Maybe?" He looks a bit shifty. "Ok, definitely, but that's not the point. I'm allowed to think, aren't I?" But then again, when Joshua Donovan thinks, Things happen.

"Your world is fucking amazing, little sister."

"And a hell of a lot better with my brother in it. So, no, no thinking, plotting, or otherwise considering the use of dangerous artifacts, with or without worldly benefits," She said, poking him again. "I still have the supercharged cuffs I used when I kidnapped Artie."

He makes a face, shaking his head. "Hey, you don't have to threaten the cuffs. I'll be a good boy, I promise. No unauthorized Artifact testing."

"And if the wishing kettle shows up, CERN will have to put up with any and all ferrets. Just saying," Claudia said, shooting him a dirty look. "I know where I got my penchant for testing boundaries, at least. But I like knowing that you're safe. Because when I have to bury you, I don't want it to be over some stupid mistake, okay?"

She doesn't know why that's coming out now, but she had been thinking about it, ever since she realized she wanted the job, downsides and all. She wanted this life, but she'd have to give up so much to have it.

"Hey, stop that." Joshua stops in his tracks, turns and looks at his sister, reaching out and putting a hand on her shoulder. "Stop right there. Everyone has one life-ending accident in their lives. I've had mine, so it's going to be alright." He pauses. "You're going to be stuck with me for quite a while now, little sister. Your fault for getting me out."

He's smirking, trying to cheer her up a bit.

"I just meant...Mrs. Frederic introduced me to her grandson. He was in a nursing home," Claudia said, quietly. "I'm still not really sure how I feel about that. I mean, when I become the Caretaker, I won't grow old, or be able to have even a slightly normal life. And I want it, but it means that I'll lose you and everyone else I care about. Pete, Myka...Steve."

"Shit." Joshua takes a deep breath, and hugs his baby sister. "Claudia. You are so much stronger than you know. I know you're going to be amazing and rock it. And frankly, I'm kinda jealous of you and your not-normal life."

"You be jealous. I get to deal with an occasionally moody building," Claudia pointed out. "Although if you can find a way to negate the pull of the Bermuda Triangle on the P51 Artie snagged, it would be a load off my mind. It keeps messing up the shelving when it moves."

He smirks. "Give me a couple weeks, and a bit of time with the thing, and I might find a containment system. I might need access to the neutralizer, too."

Oh, look. He's off in Theoretical Science Land.

"Artie would kill me if I did that. But we can pass it on the way," Claudia said, smirking. He would find a way, probably, but it would have to be totally hands off.

"Goo doesn't affect the pull, since we can't exactly go neutralize a stretch of ocean."

"But..." He falls silent, mumbling a few things to himself, and shaking his head every so often.

He probably needs to be poked out of his thoughts after about ten minutes, sorry, Claudia.

Claudia would laugh, but it was nice. They did stop and spend time next to the P51, so Joshua could take a good look. "Your mad scientist streak is showing, you know."
