Words are magical things; they can have so many lovely connotations and varied histories.
Words have family trees just like people. They are linked to each other.
Some words are full of flavor and color and describe things you never suspected there were words for.
Words are why we're here.The meme is simple:

1. Post a comment with your muse's name and canon in the subject line.
2. List any preferences you may have ("no shipping," "no smut," etc.), if you decide to leave the next step up to responders.
3. Responders (or original posters, if they so decide), go to the Other-Wordly blog and hit 'Random' until you get a word. Use the word as a prompt to write up an RP scenario. Do this several times, if you like. Mix and match. Have fun with it!
4. Don't stop with a word, though! Words can often have etymologies that are at odds with their current meanings. Words can shift connotations over time. Let your imagination carry you with the words as its wind.

It isn't so hard to understand wanting to be wanted. To be considered worth anyone's time for a point in time long enough to mean anything. TJ has been jumping from bed to bed, warm-bodied or hospital-chilled in his attempts, not to find that feeling, but to forget how much it stung to find out that he wasn't worth it.

Wasn't worth the trouble, the risk, wasn't even worth having his heart spared the soul-crushing crunch of words that cut too deep, hit too hard in all the wrong places.

It was hard enough, having the world watch you like the next big reality TV show, waiting for your every mistake. TJ had to be outed all across the media in the worst ways possible. The President's son, gay. It was a scandal that the public ate up. A media sensation. And after everything, TJ never quite recovered. Never found more than a temporary spot in anyone's desires. All the starry-eyed fanboys who dreamed of having sex with him didn't actually know or care who he was. It was just that he was TJ Hammond that they cared about. And once it was said and done, TJ took his next hit, moved on to his next bar.

He just wanted to be wanted. Not because of his name. Not because of the media. He wanted someone to want him for who he was, and in the absence of that, he filled the void with 'anonymous' sex, drugs and alcohol.

When he saw Jack, he knew he had to have done a few more lines than he realized. He was hallucinating a face that was more similar to his own than his own twin brother. There were differences enough that TJ knew he was not looking into a mirror, but the similarities were hard to miss. And he was on his feet before he even realized what he was doing and stopping just short of arm's reach of the other man, watching him with a squint and his head tilted to the side. Hallucination? Trick of a mind too far gone for reason? Or was he really staring at an uncanny resemblance...

Only one way to really try to find out. He took a step forward after a moment, and tapped Jack on the shoulder.
