Lab Rat: The Puzzlening

It's a meme in which you're trapped in some enclosed environment and are forced to run around like an idiot whilst playing some kind of game (typically one in which failure means death) and some mysterious gamemaster points and laughs at you. Dangan Ronpa, 999, Portal, you know the drill. And it shall pierce the heavens.

So let's get the formalities over with.

Where are you trapped?

1. An amusement park with deadly rides and booby trapped attractions!
2. A creepy mansion with the obligatory ghosts and cursed objects!
3. A small island that's, thankfully, at least reasonably tropical so you won't have to worry about getting cold!
4. A boat that's slowly sinking even as I type this!
5. A zoo except there's some sort of super creepy twist like the animals exhibited are actually whatever species you are!
6. Something seemingly innocent that you can walk out of any time, like a high school or a Subway or a Walmart- okay, innocentish except the twist is that it's actually VR and there's no escape no matter how far you run!
X. Fuck your number options I do what I want.

What are you supposed to do?

1. Run around and solve puzzles like an idiot for an indefinite period of time!
2. FIND A WAY OUT. That's it. And probably one or more of the other items on this list in the process but mainly just FIND A WAY OUT.
3. Kill other people until you're the last person standing!
4. Find a certain important object that's hidden somewhere in the playing field!
5. Figure out who the douchy gamemaster is and what they want because otherwise you'll probably be stuck doing various forms of 1-4 until you die!

Who are you really?

1. Some genuinely innocent bystander who somehow got sucked into this mess but mainly someone confused.
2. Someone who secretly has deep dark ties to everything that's going on.
3. The douchy gamemaster in disguise. Surprise!

What's potentially going to kill you?

1. Bombs.
2. Some esoteric neurotoxin that was injected into your blood and the douchy gamemaster is the only person who has the cure on them.
3. Some guy with a knife/gun/sword, possibly cursed or hacked depending on your stuck location.
4. Unsure because the methods are myriad and diverse. Who knows.
Q. Do I really have to spell out what this is at this point?

And has anyone died yet?

1. No.
2. Yes, and they're important.
3. Yes but they're just some NPC named Phil, whose grim death underscores what's really at stake but otherwise you can't really give a fuck about him. Sorry.
$. ...I'm not sure how you can take a third option with this given the dying/not dying thing but I have full confidence that you'll be able to do so.

[Welp, shit got real fast. After Phil was shot down by some mysterious poison arrows, even Rail was starting to take this thing a little more seriously. Other then Phil, everyone else is pretty much alive, but completely panicked. The Gamemaster had given them some kind of riddle for a mysterious object for them to find or else they'd get killed off in horrible ways.

Still, Rail wasn't acting like she was taking this very seriously, despite what was at sake. She got paired off with Archer, and she's got her hands stuffed in her pockets and following along at a somewhat lazy pace.]

So we're gonna end up like that Phil guy if we don't find the Gamemaster's missing socks or whatever?

Why did an innocent school festival end up like this? A rare, uncharacteristic rain pattered across the roof, teasing the remaining SSS members. Their freedom to the outside was dangled in front of them, audible, not far, no, but just far enough to be out of their grasp.

They're trapped in a room laden with nothing but warped mirrors, some broken and some intact. Bodies of the fallen littered the maze already. Noda, TK, and Matsushita had already been lost.

The Angel Player-warped shadows tailed the remaining clusters of SSS members, each one wearing the twisted face Kanade Tachibana. Some remained half-shadowed, others were mangled, half-formed versions of a bloodthirsty Angel, and others yet--the most capable, the most dangerous--were perfect replicas of Kanade.

Getting out of the front door is impossible. Right now, the goal is to survive.]

[When Daria had asked him to visit the art museum, Kon was less than ethusiastic. Somehow the world had managed to combine two of his least favorite things into one place, and they were doing an exhibit on puzzles. It was as if the universe had declared open season on him, and he was the sitting duck just waiting to be shot.

Nevertheless, Daria has rather... persuasive methods to get him there, so he walks beside her with his hands in his pockets and inspects the various puzzles set up in the museum. They're not particularly complicated, but Kon just isn't that into brainteasers. They make his head hurt. A lot.]
