But for this meme, everyone in this spectrum has one thing in common: you feel love towards someone. Not a facade, not even lust, but real, true love. This, of course, complicates things, yet your love is all-consuming and cannot be ignored. How To Play: This is a shipping meme that operates on "true love." You're welcome to interpret that as you will through your character and your character's culture/society/canon, but what your character will feel is equivalent to love. For Your Own Good: We all know the romance trope. One party must leave the other, though they still love them desperately. They must make their love hate them for their own good. 11. Trying to Make It Work: Through good times and bad, you've decided to work together for what you feel, because you know you'll only ever love this person. 12. Back Together: You only had room for one person in your heart, and they were the one that got away. Now, though, you have another chance. 13. I Refuse to Leave: Sometimes, even true love isn't all that good. Sometimes it's destructive and painful, and the person you love isn't the one who's good for you. But they love you, and you can't leave. 14. Keep Your Hands Off!: You have to defend your partner, and you won't let anyone stand in the way. 15. Marry You: You've decided to make things permanent. [Technically, if he were to concentrate very hard, Sherlock would be able to count how many times he and John have saved one another's lives. But over nearly a decade of knowing one another, with the both of them so attracted to danger and the unknown, they've gotten into what can only be classified as a ridiculous number of strange situations. Every time, no matter who was rescuing whom, Sherlock's been incredibly glad to know the man--John adds something to his life he hadn't thought to consider a missing factor, something elusive and comfortable.

(He doesn't like to think about it too hard. Some part of him senses danger from that train of thought: an agitation he uniquely associates with the times when John blames him for a breakup.)

He may not be able to define that something John adds to his life. But when it's threatened, Sherlock becomes a very dangerous man.

Sherlock had, of course, been aware that Moriarty had dozens of dangerous men and women operating underneath him. But he doesn't anticipate every attack. And he especially hadn't anticipated a six-foot-six man with a gun in one hand and a knife in the other waiting for them when they got home, clearly bent on torture and murder.

He doesn't look at John, merely keeps his eyes fixed on the intruder.]

Things had begun rather hesitantly between them--there was enthusiasm on both sides (which was hard to avoid, considering just how nicely they'd both cleaned up for John's wedding), even if Sherlock was terribly awkward about affection and Molly was more used to partners who were... emotionally normal. Still, they made a better match than anyone, including they themselves, would have suspected. The romance might be distinctly odd, but it was certainly there.

And then, all of a sudden, Sherlock went entirely quiet for three days. No texts, no calls, no emails--nothing. He wasn't out of the country, if the noises Mrs. Hudson had been hearing upstairs were any indication, but... he wasn't communicating with anyone. Not even his girlfriend.

Even though he was at times a very awkward partner, this was totally unlike him. Enough to make those who cared about him terribly worried.

The Sorceress tried to concentrate on other things. She had duties, responsibilities - she belonged to Castle Grayskull and Eternia. Romantic feelings, while nice, were distracting in the best of all scenarios.

This was not the best of all scenarios.

Sorceress could rarely leave Castle Grayskull, and Evil Lyn worked for Skeletor. They were completely and entirely incompatible. Therefore, the Sorceress could not possibly have feelings for her, it was not to be done.

But for as long as Evil Lyn was a (temporary, she reminded herself) guest of the castle, Sorceress could enjoy her company. And pretend she was only being polite and she didn't enjoy Lyn's company at all.

It wasn't that their actual courtship was slow -- no, that had happened very, very quickly, as quickly as everything else since it had begun; it was lucky that Starscream was skilled at reacting to swiftly-changing circumstances -- but certain things about it needed to be gradual.

Much of the time (outside of, ah, very specific situations), Starscream simply did not like being crowded. He enjoyed certain kinds of touch, especially if he initiated it, but others were just too much or varied wildly depending on his mood. And while he was learning, comparatively quickly, to verbally express himself, there were some words that were...

Difficult.

And he knew that he was a difficult person, knew that he was frustrating to deal with, knew that Ultra Magnus was being astonishingly patient with him. Some part of him still insisted that the Magnus would get tired of it all, would decide he simply wasn't worth all of this hassle, and that really didn't help matters in the least.

So. Whenever they had some time alone -- truly alone, the others of their team off doing something else and leaving the Themis empty for the foreseeable future -- Starscream liked to be indulgent, to both enjoy Ultra Magnus's company and to spoil him somewhat, to prove that he was not simply difficult and prickly and obstinate, but could be worth the effort, worth all of the patience that Ultra Magnus had shown.

He draped on top of him, allowed Magnus to stroke his wings, which the ex-Autobot seemed to enjoy as much as he did. His own claws traced lazily, and very lightly, over Ultra Magnus's shoulder. "You have been tense," he noted, an unspoken invitation: Do you want to talk?
