[ He tenses up for a moment when he hears the word "sweetheart". It's still not used to that word being applied to him, and still not sure how to deal with it. It's not that he doesn't like it, but he can never seem to react right to it.

Here she is trying to be comforting and all he can do is make a scoffing noise to dismiss what she just said, and twist his head so he could stare out the widow. It's a nice day out. Shame to be stuck inside like this, especially for someone like her. ]

Hmmm...I wonder what you're like when you're sick, though. Maybe you're secretly the sweet type when it happens. I can't say I'd mind that too much.

[ It's gonna take awhile. The only love confession he ever got involved people trying to cut him up with knives. Normal relationships are an enigma to him.

He relaxes his pose now, but he's giving her a confused and questioning looking. ]

[ Did anyone actually get like that when they were sick? He kind of had his doubts. ]

She sighs, gently, and turns to face him again, but looks down. Such an elusive thing. How troublesome.]

[ Yeah. His life is kind of messed up sometimes. He doesn't give it a lot of thought though.

At her little performance there Shizuo turns his head away from her and makes a scoffing sound. He does look vaguely amused though. ]

Shut up. No one changes like that when they're sick.

[ Definitely not a drastic change like the first one at least. ]

Hmmm, I don't think someone who hasn't been around sick people should say something like that.

[She chuckles lightly before pouting.] But then, you'd probably just be very grumpy if you were. If you'd even let yourself stay in bed if you were sick.

[He shrugs off all sorts of abuse on a regular basis, it's hard to picture him being felled by mere illness.

She's suddenly very glad that he's never been as long as she's known him. So far, anyway.]

[ He's been around sick people plenty. He spent a lot of time in the hospital when he was a kid, but he decides maybe that's not something to tell Flora right now. She's the kind that'd make a big deal over something that doesn't matter now. ]

I wouldn't. Unless my legs aren't working then like hell I'm lying around in bed all day.

[ That's not even meant to be a judgment call on her. He doesn't mind if she lies around like that. He just doesn't have the patience for it himself. ]

[Wow she wouldn't make a big deal out of it!!! Just, you know, a moderate one. She can prioritise!

She doesn't take it as him passing judgement, she knows him too well. It's in that vein, she can't help sighing.]

I suppose I'll just count us both lucky that it hasn't happened to you, because I'm not certain getting you to relax like that would be very fun. Though, it might happen soon if you don't loosen up, a little.

[ That's a bigger deal than he wants made out of it. So no telling her about his childhood it is. ]

Flora starts to laugh a little at that declaration. It's soft in its weakness, and quickly becomes a cough, but for a few moments there're genuine lols. She loves you, Shizuo, really, but.

Really, now. If you're loose now, I'd hate to see what you're like when you're uptight. [Mild eyeroll.]

If everyone that happened to everyone that said that, not very many people would be.

[ Easily. Very, very easily. To be honest if he told her the story of his past it'd probably go like this.

"When I was a kid my body was weaker and I broke bones a lot. It's fine. I got tougher." THE END. Not so exciting. She should have been one of the audience members for his flashback episode if she wanted the full narrative from him.
