[ Mal places a hand on Inara's shoulders, and he uses the leverage to help push himself up into a sitting position. Looking over to her, Mal pouts and he seems to have a trick up that sleeve of his.

He plans to be a total brat. ] But these things are itchy! As for getting drunk, it's either getting drunk or eating more of those fruity oaty bars. [ He follows the pout with some mock gagging, all before he allows himself to flop back on the plows with a resounding. ] Ow!

[ Inara rolls her eyes and sighs. ]

You are such a drama queen, Mal! Stay still.

[ She gives him a firm look, but slides to her feet to go get his requested brandy, and a glass. She pours a little, then offers the glass.]

Here. Sip it, don't chug it like a bum.

I am stayin' still, least I'm tryin' to stay still. [ He grumbles under his breath, and reaches out for the glass. Sure, he shouldn't drink, but Mal isn't exactly good on following doctor's orders. Or any orders.

With a pathetic look on his face, Mal waggles his fingers for the glass. ] I'll try not to chug, but the faster it gets in me the more I get to forget about the job we almost botched.

[ She passes it over, watching him carefully. ]

But we didn't. [ This was said firmly, because while it's important to note what mistakes were made so that they do not happen again (like Mal getting shot) it's also important to realize that dwelling on the what if wasn't always good, either. ]
