Oh, she'll have him, that much she's been sure of for a good long while now. Chuck is without a doubt The One, and she wants to be with him for as long as he'll put up with her nonsense.

"Charles Hansen are you out of your bloody mind? That dog is heavy as shit."

She doesn't even know how her crazy ass ranger can manage all these smiles and kisses considering what a mess he's in.

"So hold him up and let him see I'm not dead," he grumbles. Chuck is made of STRONG STUFF he can kiss his woman no matter what state he's in. "And we need to tell him he's going to be a big brother."

"Or you could get up here." Now he's just being a cheeky fucker, there's no way for her to get on the bed and for them both to be comfortable.

"I love you," he mumbles against her mouth. He's shaking a little, partly from pain, partly from shock, partly from sheer relief. "...did it work?" He'd marry her in a monster-strewn world if he must, but he'd prefer it not be so...monstery.

She bloody well would climb into the bed with him if she only could.

"Yeah, it worked."

She pulls back a little so she can smile down at him, fingers gently combing through his hair.

"You did it, baby. And I love you too, so much."

She temporarily sits back down in the chair so that she can haul Max up in her lap again.

"Look boy, daddy's awake again."

He leans a little in order to rub the top of his head, smiling at the sight of Max trying to squirm his way out of Filly's arms in an attempt to wash Chuck's face. He waits until he's done greeting Max (maybe more than a few minutes) before he ask after the others.

...but maybe he keeps looking at Max when he does, because he's afraid of the answer.

She lets Max stay in her lap as she tells Chuck about the other pilots, needing something to hold on to herself as well as giving her boyfriend something to focus on as she delivers the sad news.

She saves Mako and Raleigh for last, wanting to at least end with telling him that some people other than him made it out alive.
