HOW IT WORKS:

[She probably wasn't quite three fourths his size, so she had to tilt her head up some to look at him.]

Hello.

Ah... hello...

[He shifts a little uncomfortably and doesn't look like he quite knows how to behave. Surprisingly for a dragon as old and as large as he is... he's never met another dragon. Skyfire has an almost 'now what?' look on his face.]

[Rose tilted her head some at his body language. This wasn't the first time she has seen another dragon, though it had been quite some time since her last encounter.]

You do not mind if I join you, do you?

I do not mind at all...

[He shifts on his feet a little and finally sits back down, trying to keep some space between them. Skyfire didn't want to crowd her or invade her personal space.]

So... err... Might I ask your name?

[Well... he's trying to be polite. Skyfire is a bit starved for socialization and conversation... Poor guy, he's so awkward.]

[She stretched her wings some and sat down herself.]

I am Rose. You?

[Usually she is the socially awkward.]

That's a pretty name...

[He tries to arrange himself in such a way as to show off slightly... and she's the first female dragon he's ever seen too...]

My name is Skyfire.

... Are you just visiting the area?

[She nods some.]

You could say that. I like to travel.

Oh? Would you mind telling me a little about some of the places you've been?

[He sounds genuinely interested, though he looks a little unsure of himself as he asks his next question.]

Do you have a place to stay while you're here?

I've seen many places, but I am originally from a desert.

[she tilts her head some.]

No. I have not thought about where I will stay just yet.

Would... would you like to stay with me? I... have plenty of space...

[Plenty of space would be an understatement... He'd carved the inside of nearly an entire mountain into a home for himself.]

I would love to hear more about the places that you've been to as well...

[He looked so hopeful that she'd stay... he wanted company, even if only for a short time. It didn't hurt that he thought she was pretty too.]

[She gives a slight smile and nods.]

I would like that. It will certainly be a change from sleeping out in the open.

[Not that sleeping outside was not always bad. It just really sucked when it started to rain.]

[Skyfire smiles and looks quite happy that she'd want to stay, even for a short time.]

Would you like me to show you the way now, or would you prefer a small tour of the area?

[He was trying so hard to be chivalrous and make her like him... Though he really has no idea what the heck he's doing...]

[She thought he was kinda of cute with the way he was acting.]

I would not mind a small tour.

[If she happens to look at the right time, she'll see the end of his tail wagging just a little bit... almost like an excited puppy.]

Would you like a tour by air or just by walking around some?

[Walking would take longer, but this entire small valley was his... and there were no humans around... The mountain he made his home in was at least an hours walk away.]

[Rose sees that little tail wag, and it's amusing.]

Flying sounds good.

[She enjoys the freedom that flight gives her after all.]

Shall we be off then?

[If she has no objections, Skyfire will take to the air and show her around the entire area. Pointing out many lovely places and things, like a beautiful hot spring and waterfall, before landing on a large cliff that more resembled a small forest with a clearing than anything.]

[She takes to the air right after him. She enjoys the view and takes note of the places he points out. When they are done, she lands next to him.]

It is a lovely place. Do you have it all to yourself?

It really is...

[Skyfire gives her a half smile]

Unfortunately...

[He leads her over to what looks like a plain rock wall and shoves an arm into a hole... triggering a door to slide open... So he was bored and made something to hide his home...]

Do you have a preference in surfaces to rest on?

[The walls of the tunnel are lit with softly glowing stones, inlaid into carvings of plants and creatures... The tunnels are covered in said carvings... someone clearly has too much free time on his paws...]

[She follows him into the cave.]

You are the only dragon in the area?

[She looks around in wonder. It is not the first time she's been in another dragon's cave but this is certainly one of the more elaborate ones.]

Not really. I can basically sleep anywhere.

[Elaborate and large as well, since there are lots of tunnels branching off into other tunnels... Someone should get out more...]

Ah... yes... I haven't seen any others.

[He looks a little sad at that. It wasn't like he could go very far from home and his food supply...]

Well, you can sleep anywhere, but what would you prefer?

[Skyfire wanted to make sure she'd be comfortable, just because he likes the soft thick moss he'd grown in a few caves for resting on, it didn't mean she would.]

I see...

[It was a little sad to hear. She came from a clan, so she couldn't imagine what it was like to be the only dragon around.]

How about a soft surface?

[Sad as it was, he was rather used to it. Before meeting Rose, he wasn't even sure there were other dragons. It was nice to be wrong in that thought.]

That I can do.

[He smiles and leads her to a really pretty cave. It's walls are caved with images of numerous plants and birds and one wall has a large 'hole' covered in what looks like very thick glass, allowing a view of the world outside. The floor of the cave looks like it's been heated to the point of being molten and cooled... Skyfire had been putting his fire to good use.

Someone is clearly trying to impress her...]

Will this do? I can do have other options if this isn't to your liking...

[Over against one wall there is a thick pad of what looks like moss, making up a soft and comfortable sleeping area.]

[Rose follows him and looks around in wonder at the chamber as they enter. She has seen other dragon dwellings before, but nothing like this. Especially one with a window to look from.]

It is amazing...

[She looks over to the moss and smiles some.]

That will do just fine.

[She goes over to the moss, and stretches like a big cat before settling down on it.]

[He watches her for a moment and looks sheepish when he realizes he's staring.]

Um... Shall I leave you to rest?

[While Skyfire really doesn't want to leave, he won't force his company on her if she wants to rest. He'd been on his own for so long, what would it hurt if he had to wait a few more hours for some conversation?]

[She seems to sense his unwillingness to leave. Not that she can blame him since he has been alone for all these years.]

You can stay around if you still want to talk. I don't mind.
