It's happened once or twice right? Crowded place, lots of people, and there are always those popular phones it seems everyone has. You suddenly realize you are late, or someone you are avoiding comes in.

You rush out grabbing your phone! Except you get to your destination and realize OOPS! It isn't your phone.

What do you do? Do you rush back hoping the person you were next to is still there? Do you have to try and find an important number to get a message to them? Or hey call your phone and hope they answer?

Pick a scenario below and run with it.

1. First contact: Get a hold of the person!
2. Set up a meet and switch phones!

Mister Fox, actually. [It's a common misconception, unless Garrett is standing right next to his brother, who actually does wear a wolf skin. He hands Melissa's phone to her.] And not a costume. Not really. Name is Garrett. Thank you for the return.

It's not? [Color her surprised. Now that she's got her phone back, Melissa breathes a sigh of relief before she looks the kid over. He's pretty young - younger than Scott - and while she's sure he can handle himself, she can't help pressing her lips together and looking just a bit worried.]

Well, thank you for bringing me my phone back, Garrett. You're... not from around here, are you?

He just might follow like a little lost puppy.

Mmmm, nope. More like, uh... [He gives a shrug.] Cannot explain it right. Do not have the right words.

[He grins at Melissa's second question.] What showed it? Not wearing shoes? [Limited as his abilities with the language barrier are, he can still make a joke. He's been extremely aware of the stares he's been getting from the people since he ended up in this strange place.]

I don't think she'd object to that!

[That's understandable. She thinks. Sometimes English is pretty hard, especially if you're not from around here.

The kid's accent is kind of endearing, as strange as he is.] Yes, of course. That's the only thing that'd give you away. [She laughs goodnaturedly, reaching in her purse for a $20.]

Here, let me treat you to some coffee if you haven't had any yet.

[He gives her a grateful smile. He doesn't like charity, but Garrett reasons that he got her phone back to her, so coffee wouldn't go amiss.]

It's really the least I could do. [She turns towards the counter to place their order.] Some kids would've run off with my phone and sold it on Ebay.

[Wait...] You know what Ebay is, right?

[He shakes his head no ruefully.]

No idea. They do not have that where I'm from.

[As well as a whole lot of other things, but he's slowly learning about this strange new world.]

You have a phone, but you don't have Ebay. What, do you guys live in the past? [As much as Melissa enjoyed growing up in the 80's and 90's, she kind of enjoys online shopping a bit too much to let it go.]

[Garrett laughs softly, a smooth sound that suggests he doesn't have things to find humorous as often as he'd like to in his life.]

Yes, it is like that. A very, very different place. [He pauses.] It sounds crazy. All else think so.

... If you're stuck here for a while, why don't you come back to my place for dinner? I'm sure my son won't mind. [Plus, uh, she might be able to find him some clothes that don't look as if he'd come straight from Comic-Con. Not that she knows any better about the pelt.]

[He scuffs his bare feet for a moment, teenage pride wrestling with the undeniable knowledge he's all alone in this world. Finally, he looks up and nods.]

[It doesn't need to be said! Melissa gets the hint loud and clear.] Of course. Scott's been kind of slacking on chores lately, so I don't think he'd mind if you helped out tonight.

[The better question was when her kid would show up, thanks to him being a werewolf that wandered all over town at odd hours of the night. God, she knew he did important work but it never stopped her from worrying.]
