OPTIONS FOR THE SCENARIO-MINDED:

1. ENEMIES: in for the kill
The truth is you've been plotting each other's death for a long time. The only thing different about this situation is that everyone else actually wants you to off each other. Who cares if both of you are probably going to die anyway: no one is taking this bastard down except you.

2. ROMANCE: lovers in a dangerous time
What do lovers do when they know they're about to die? Last kiss, last words, last fuck? Maybe you're desperately trying to protect each other from the rest. Maybe you're the last two left alive. What sacrifices are you willing to make? How far will you allow each other to go?

3. ALLIES: set your arms down
It's in both of your best interests to stick together. Two together is more deadly than one, and you can pool supplies and weapons. Of course, this arrangement is most definitely temporary. Maybe it'll fall apart tonight, or tomorrow, or next week. Maybe your alliance has already run its course, and it's about to fall apart...right now.

4. TORTURE: death's not the worst
Sure, the point is to kill them. But why leave it at that? Maybe you've always secretly gotten off on this sort of thing, or maybe you've just cracked under the stress. When everyone is going to die, there's no point in sticking to all those rules society laid down for you any more. You've already incapacitated them; there's no way they can fight back. Might as well have some fun, right?

5. VICTORY: the finish line
You've done it. Last one standing. You've chosen to live, and no one but you knows how much that choice cost you, because they're all dead. At this point there's nothing that will stop you from stepping up to claim victory. You killed every other tribute. Or did you?

6. OTHER: write your own story
Anything and everything you can think of. In the arena, there are no rules.

[the Doctor didn't like the idea of this at all. Not one bit, but he had to do it anyways. It was survival of the fittest, and unfortunately, he had to continue.

There was nothing more horrifying than seeing the people dropping like flies, to see the life drain out of their eyes as he would apologize, always apologizing at the end.

He looked at the other man across him, not even bothering to hide and his shoulders sagged and he was sure that he looked devastated to see another tribute alive. Another person he would have to kill to avoid his own death.

[This isn't the sort of magic Sumomo is used to. She's used to using her powers as a magical girl for solving small problems, like trying to help lost stuffed animals find their way home, or catching falling stars, or any other number of saccharine tasks.

Not for murdering. She never wanted to watch the blood congeal beneath the body of a girl no older than herself, or to be forced to hide in bushes or in the tall branches of a tree, like a hunted animal. She wanted a happy, simple life. Instead, she's chosen out of all of her classmates, thrown into an arena and her life televised, in order to slaughter innocent people.

It's amazing that she's survived this long, her clumsiness and tendency to burst into tears making her an almost stupidly easy target. And yet, she has, if only by savoring her rations carefully and horribly misusing her Stellar Spinner Ladle as a bludgeon when she was ambushed one night. There aren't many of them left now, maybe a handful.

But she's not sure how much she can take. She's cried and lamented and wished, and it has done nothing for her. She's still adjusting to the harsh truth: that there is no easy way out for her, no simple solution. One was just enough, wasn't it? Even one other person's blood on her hands, even if they had meant to kill her first, wasn't that good enough for the judges and audience? Couldn't they just let her go? She has had enough fighting. She wants peace.

When she hears footsteps approaching, her heart begins pounding from her hiding place behind a thick clump of bushes, knowing that her next action could either kill her, or give her a much-needed respite. She needs to be brave, for once.]

[ Sayaka had heard that out here in the arena, the Games changed people; the way they thought, acted and felt. she knew it first hand by now. she came into these games with a struggle, not wanting to harm anyone. but after her days of training and seeing exactly what she was up against, she definitely had changed for the worse.

it wasn't the killing that really bothered her, but the game masters pushing her to survive in already harsh conditions. adding annoyance to a game that she was already set on winning did not fare well with her. no way was she going to die here.

there was also the fact that she was competing against that girl. the one she knew that she couldn't trust. the kills that she had done up until now were meaningless, and it was only that one, long-haired girl's blood being shed that would make her feel like she won something.

soon, it's just the two of them left. time to go in for the last kill. ]

Because the Nurse didn't. And the Last Centurion thought he could win that.

[she really didn't like the idea. no, scratch that. she hated the idea. but as much as she wanted to just off Kimmie then and there, the fact that Kim Possible always seemed to get the best of her had always stuck firmly in her mind.

so...why not make an alliance out of it? the two of them always made a formidable team when the time called for it. and hey, when it wound up being the two of them they would have one final go at each other: no distractions, to the death.

but for now, she wanted to focus on one thing: make sure no one bested her Princess. that was the main point of this alliance, after all. no one touches Kimmie but her, and it will be so much more satisfying in the end.

as for now, Shego's in the midst of holding out her hand for a forced handshake, staring down at Kim.]

[Vexen rarely, if ever, sought out partners in the past. He preferred to stick to his own devices, more so he could have complete control over the situation. Others only got in the way.

But that was the past. Now, he finds himself backed into a corner with none other than the Freeshooter, surrounded by at least six other combatants on the other side of the wall they're currently hiding behind.

Now, under normal circumstances, Xigbar would be one of the last people Vexen would want to pair up with, but with their combined battling expertise and weapons/rations, and more importantly considering the fact that his life is on the line...an alliance seems ideal. A temporary one to get out of this mess, at least.

He quickly relays his reasoning to the woman, desperately hoping she'll agree to it. Because honestly, he doesn't expect her to. He's not the most liked member in the Organization, after all.]
