The Star Trek AU Meme

Space. Space is awesome. You should totally explore it, and you should totally do it as part of the Star Trek universe. Here are the rules recommendations to help you explore this amazing canon, no matter what your medium or canon source.

1. Comment. Optionally, you could pick a role for yourself and a brief sample scene for people to tag into. You could also just leave it completely open. Or you can do BOTH and maximize your RP potential!
2. Make sure to mention your preferences! If you're here for beginning CR, if you're looking for a romance, if you want to find wild and wacky antics amongst the Klingons, etc.
3. TAG OUT! Star Trek is all about meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. Try to tag at least one person with each character you drop in.
4. Choose a scenario! Don't feel limited to the choices below, but if you need RNG to help inspire some kind of starting point, a list has been provided.
5. Live long AND prosper.

Possible Scenarios

1. Fresh New Faces - You've just enrolled at Starfleet. Now it's time for SHENANIGANS ON CAMPUS. Study hard, make new friends, or enlist as a teacher to help mold these young minds. And of course, there's the infamous Kobayashi Maru test to take...

2. Academy Buddies/Rivals - You were assigned to the ship along with someone you knew very well back at Starfleet Academy. Will you work together? Will old grudges still follow through now that you're no longer cadets?

3. Department Heads - There are a lot of people in charge of a lot of departments. Engineering, Security, Medical, Navigations...either way, someone's in charge, and officers need to report in, do paperwork, take on missions... Is your department head someone to look up to, or is he/she an overbearing asshole? Are YOU the overbearing asshole department head?

4. I Am the Captain - Congratulations, you have your very own ship! What the hell are you going to do with it? Recommended: not flying the ship into a sun.

5. Suddenly Crossover! - You do not belong in this universe. Somehow, you wound up here anyway, and Starfleet's here to check you out (or vice versa). Are you an ally, or an enemy?

6. Crew Social - Not everything's about diplomatic aliens and hostile killer space entities. Sometimes you just have to attend a meet-n-greet to relax and get to know your fellow crewmates. It could be taking a meal at the mess hall, grabbing a drink at the relaxation center, or a formal dance arranged by the captain.

7. Diplomatic Mission - One of you is Starfleet, the other one isn't. You're here to convince this race to align with Starfleet to share knowledge, peace, and prosperity. Or it's a TRAP.

8. Away Mission - Exploring a new planet in space isn't without its dangers. Hopefully you're not wearing a red shirt. Oh, you are? Oh. Oh I'm so sorry.

He turns his head to the side to check his teeth, and satisfied that he looks presentable for the bridge, he turns and nearly slams his face into a blue telephone booth. He staggers back, mouth open in soundless shock. Hold on. He knows this booth.]

[If there's any animosity between Owen and Orihime, it's news to her. She doesn't mind that he's grouchy, as most of her friends growing up were definitely on the grumpy side. He's smart, and she respects that, and even looks up to him as he was one year further along than she was when she enrolled. She just barely traded in her cadet status for a shiny new Ensign insignia, walking briskly to medbay to report for duty. When she gets there, she freezes in the doorway, eyes wide with happy surprise upon seeing a familiar face.]

[ The Doctor might have a point with Vortex Manipulators being rubbish, but when she is not traveling by TARDIS, but it does make do in most situations. This is one of those situations when it decides that it wants to malfunction, and dump her in another universe that isn't her own.

At least she finds herself face first on the floor of a starship in space with her hands splayed out in front of her. This is hardly how she prefers to arrive; this is absolutely rubbish on a girl's dignity.

Slowly buy surely she lifts her head up, to scope out her surroundings... ] Isn't this just quaint... [ Of course, her arrival will most likely trigger off some type of alarm. ] ... A corridor. If he is responsible for this, I will!!

His expression was as emotionless as the next Vulcan, so much so, that he was able to hide his pain very well. Were it not for the obvious limp (and were those phaser burns on his uniform? Good god...) he probably would have been able to convince his superiors he was fit to return to his station.

[Earth is already a member of the Federation. Soul Society, however, has never considered the possibility of getting involved with space shenanigans...at least, not until the souls of other races started showing up. Now it seems like there's not much of a choice; they can't remain apart forever. As someone who's an invaluable ally of Soul Society, as well as a person who's actually still alive, Orihime's volunteered to help show show the diplomatic team around and make sure they're comfortable. As the team approaches, she beams. She's wearing a formal yukata for the occasion, her hair pinned up, looking as stately as possible...except for the big excited grin on her face. [Ensign Orihime Inoue is one of those fresh-faced just-graduated cadets who just got raised to ensign and assigned to the Enterprise to replace all of those unfortunate redshirts to fill one of the empty positions in the medbay. It's clear to anybody who looks at her just how excited she is to be onboard. She's surprised to see how young the captain is, as she was kind of expecting someone old and wrinkled. With a big beard. With a plate heaped with refreshments, she decides to introduce herself rather than making him do it.]
