[Excuse him. This is the cutest living thing he's ever seen.

Granted, that's a low bar because what he's seen are A) bugs and B) a giant fuck-off mutated human eel that wanted to kill him. Still, a puppy shark clears it handily.

So here is an odd-looking human with mismatched eye colors, one arm missing from above the elbow, and a row of sharp (sharklike?) teeth coming out of one cheek, who kneels, then sits cross-legged on the ground to be closer to Jeff's level. He doesn't say anything because what do you say to a critter like this, but he offers out his right hand to sniff. Bold move, he's only got the one.]

[Maybe a normal dog or shark would be nervous about Simon's mutations. Heck, maybe Jeff should still act like he's worried about it. It does look like it hurts. Still, Jeff just gives the man a little sniff, and decides he smells no worse than one of his favorite people. Definitely nothing like MODOK.

I imagine God discerns between sinful pride and healthy pride, your pride comes with a sense of self-respect and recognizing human dignity. A sinful pride would be arrogance to the extent that you place yourself above God, whilst you look down on others. I think your virtue is still entirely intact.

I try to avoid putting intentionality into the potential feelings God might have about something but hopefully I’m on the right side of it. Though I think my virtue is a whole other story.
