You’re going to tell them how you feel. That’s brave. Romantic, even. You rehearsed it in your head, probably more than once, and you know exactly how this is supposed to go.

It does not go that way.

HOW TO PLAY

⬥ Comment with your character and preferences.

⬥ Tag others.

⬥ Roll or pick your disaster.

⬥ Try not to make it worse. You will, but at least try not to.

1 DURING A FIGHT: They’re already halfway out the door when "I love you" gets dragged into the argument with everything else.

2 WRONG PERSON: They open the message meant for your confidant and get the confession, two abandoned drafts, and your friend’s assessment that you sound unwell.

3 THEY LAUGHED: They laugh because they think you’re joking, and it takes them a second to notice you aren’t.

4 LIFE-OR-DEATH: Tell them you love them before they go back into danger, then have the considerable inconvenience of both surviving.

5 WRONG WORDS: You meant to say "I love you" and somehow landed on "you’ve ruined my life," which is going to require clarification.

6 DRUNK: You came over to confess and are still committed to it, despite also crying about a breadstick while they try to locate your other shoe.

7 TOO LATE: They’re packing the last of their things when you finally say what they once waited around hoping to hear.

8 THE BACKPEDAL: Say it, panic, and spend the next thirty seconds explaining why "I love you" did not technically mean "I love you."

9 PUBLIC SPECTACLE: You got everyone’s attention before you started, which seemed reasonable until you noticed somebody recording halfway through.

10 WRONG MOMENT: They ask what you think of the person they’ve started seeing, and your answer becomes much more personal than either of you expected.

11 MUTUAL WRECK: They say it back and, after all that wanting, the only thing your brain gives you is "oh."

12 WILDCARD: Bring your own bad idea.
