The WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? Meme

Most of the time, we RPers hold certain conventions when we play. One of these is that no matter what the medium our characters are from, they are "real" people/aliens/gods/creatures and others will see them as such. But what if it wasn't like that? What if, for a moment, the 4th wall was pulled up and disbelief not suspended?

Or what if our characters were used to that, because they've lived in a world where humans and "toons" exist alongside each other their entire lives?

Well, let's see how it goes!

HOW TO PLAY
1. Comment with your character, putting any preferences somewhere in your comment. Also, you might want to include if your character is a "human" or a "toon." Hyper-realistic drawn or rendered characters can choose either.
2. Other people will respond, rolling the RNG to determine the scenario.
3. Play out the scene!

OPTIONS
1. First Time Meeting- You've heard about them, but you've never met a toon or a human before. How do you respond? Are you fascinated? Freaked out?

2. Coworkers- You know each other in some kind of professional capacity. Interpret that how you want.

3. Friendship- To you, they're not a toon/human. They're just your friend.

4. Hate- Something's happened in your past that's made you wary of toons/humans, but you've been forced somehow to confront the object of your distaste.

5. Romeo and Juliet- Love between humans and toons is not completely unheard of, but it's certainly looked down upon. Can you make your relationship work in a world that doesn't think your feelings are real, especially if your family and friends are against it?

6. Sex- It's not love. You're just having fun, and you want to know what it's like to be with the forbidden fruit. Plus, some of those cartoon women are super hot. Just sayin'

7. Lost Relative- Wait. Your long-lost sister/brother/uncle is a toon/human? How does that work? It's probably better not to ask.

8. Free Space- If you have your own idea, this is the option for you!

The teenage toon had never seen a real human before, and hadn't expected to see one wandering through Toon Town. Creeping along, Jack peered around walls and over cars, following the strange human.

[Sam looks at her, an understanding look on his face.]

It wasn't exactly what I planned on, either.

[She sighs and gives a slight nod.]

What... Did you want to do?

[exorcising]

Believe it or not, I was on my way to law school.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

I bet you'd be really good at it.

[exorcising]

[His head tilts slightly in curiosity.]

What about you? What did you want to be before coming here?

[hairflyingheartpounding]

I mean it. You would be.

[She blushes a bit at the question, but answers.]

Well... I wanted to be an artist. But... Since I was made with a brush and paint myself...

[A shrug.]

[He knew the differences between her "kind" and his, the way they were given fewer options. That has to be hard. It certainly isn't right, though. The whole thing ate at him.]

I don't think that should matter. I mean, if you have the talent, you should be able to do what you want.

[He gives her a smile, hoping to brighten her spirits a bit. She deserve that much.]

And I know you have the drive for it.

[She's not surprised that Sam doesn't dismiss her dream. He's so much more open-minded than most others, human or toon.

It still makes her smile, though; a smile that turns into a grin when he smiles at her.]

Who knows? Maybe they'll start thinking that way, and you can do all the art you want to.

[Sure, not all the toons are as subdued as Rapunzel, but that doesn't matter. They should get a fair shake at things.

He leans back a bit against the stairwell they're setting on.]

[She's not sure that will ever happen, but she manages to keep her smile up as she nudges him with her shoulder.]

And what about you and law school?

I don't know. I've changed a lot since I left.

How the chihuahua ever got to know Rory, he supposed he could blame that stupid flying box. Just another bizarre accident of this universe, he supposed. Not to say it was a great start, far from it. It took a looong time to elicit anything other than a stream of angry tirades and loony rants (The first time he saw her he threatened to send her wig to coconut factory). But soon enough, the dog found the girl, dare he say it? Okay company. The dog scampered up to Rory this day (he always seemed to find her, go figure).

"Hey red riding hood, cause any accidents today?"

Of course, the sarcasm didn't go away just like that.

Rory used to find anything out of the ordinary to be, well, out of the ordinary. That was a long time ago now. What with zooming around in the blue box bigger on the inside, absolutely anything seems more than possible; most things verge on normal. Talking to a chihuahua who raged at them the first time they almost ran him over with the TARDIS? Completely and utterly normal.

"....Yeah, I'm still not sure why you call me that."

Ren's lost the meaning of normal a long time ago, even before he met Rory. The dog looks up to Rory with the greatest deadpan look he can muster.
