 ANGST MEME

Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters will fall.

- Post your characters, name and series in the subject along with any preferences.
- Go to random.org and roll.
- Play!

 1. just depressed.
Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.
You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.
Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.
You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.
You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.
For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.
You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.
Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.
You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.
This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.
You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.
Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.
You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.
Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.
You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.
It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss
You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.
Combine some options or make your own!
formersurgeon: (concerned)

LOL! Sherlock should know better than to freak out the driver!

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-02 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[When he slips, she puts up one hand to push him away, and the car fishtails again.]

And you're going to get both of us killed!

[He settles into the seat and she gives him another glaring glance.]

Pulling over so you can get in the front seat without endangering us? Good use of our time.
consulting_freak: (Blood Group)

He does a lot of things he knows better than doing.

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-02 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
You're fine. We didn't hit anyone.

[He's unconcerned as he opens up his bag of crisps and eats one, making sure to chew it thoroughly before introducing the solid food into his stomach. He holds the opened bag out toward Joan in case she'd like to eat some of them. After his 'meal,' he will probably try to take a nap.]
formersurgeon: (profile)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-02 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, that was luck. We won't always be that lucky.

[He offers her the bag, and she rolls her eyes and pushes it away.]

I'll wait for the bananas, thanks.
consulting_freak: (Iodine Fuming)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-02 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
And, you complained when I scoffed at them.

[Crisps aren't really his thing, either. Much too salty and oily, but right now he needs the calories, so he keeps eating them.]

Should have gotten trail mix.
formersurgeon: (listen)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-02 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I got granola bars. You can have some later.

[Honestly, it's like traveling with a bratty child. As exasperated as she is, though, there's part of her that has missed this. She would take this any day if it meant he was with her.]
consulting_freak: (Algor mortis)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-02 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[That gets another groan out of him.]

If you got those, then why bother with the Lays at all?

[He's especially cranky right now because he's exhausted, but reluctant to actually sleep. The truth of the matter is that he's missed Joan just as much. He's even missed how much she nags and tries to take care of him. It's just what they do.]
formersurgeon: (muscle memory)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-02 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[Another roll of the eyes. They're getting quite the workout.]

Just shut up and eat the potato chips.

[She glances at the gas gauge. They're going to need to stop fairly soon, and probably to steal another car rather than to get gas.]
consulting_freak: (HITS)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-02 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sherlock will have no complains about stealing someone's car because of their situation. They would leave it in relatively good shape and it would eventually be reunited with its owner - or maybe it won't, he doesn't really care. The only thing that matters is covering their tracks so they can get a moment to make a more solid plan.]

How long until it's empty?

[He can tell that Joan's checking the petrol levels. The levels are distorted by the angle he's at, so it already looks well passed 'E' for him.]
formersurgeon: (looking down)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-02 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the light's not on yet, so we probably have...

[The red light shaped like a gas pump comes on. Joan sighs.]

Great. Not long.
consulting_freak: (Contusion)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-02 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sherlock doesn't seem too concerned as he puts another crisp into his mouth. He'd prefer stealing a car, actually, but he knows Joan is more concerned with rule-following than he is. Not to mention his current physical state might make things difficult.]

Between a half and three-quarters hour before we need to stop, then.

[He turns his attention onto Joan for a moment.]

I'm already a fugitive. I'll hotwire a car if you can find a suitable car park to go through. And, you may as well play hostage if we're seen.
formersurgeon: (listening)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-02 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
What are you going to hold me hostage with? A cell phone?

[Seriously, they have no weapons. It makes Joan wonder if she shouldn't have gotten a set of kitchen knives while she was at it.]

I'll hotwire the car. We just need to find a mall somewhere around here and take one of the cars on the outskirts of the parking lot. Those usually belong to the employees. We'll have more time before the theft is reported.
consulting_freak: (Antibodies)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-03 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
The weapon doesn't need to be visible for it to be perceived as a threat.

[He knows for a fact that there'd been an instance in Scotland Yard several years ago where they had a hostage situation only to find out that the offender was wielding a chocolate bar as a weapon.]

The plan is fine, but I'll be the one to hotwire the car.
formersurgeon: (elegant)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-03 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Look, I get it, you're trying to protect me. You've been trying to protect me from the start of all this. But we're in this together. You don't need to shelter me, and you don't need to take the weight of all this on your shoulders alone.
consulting_freak: (Organic Compound)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-03 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[He just gives Joan a look. This is something he doesn't want to back down on, since it's important to him.]

Too bad. I understand you're involved now and I can't change that, but the least I can do is keep your name clean. It's tremendously stupid of you to throw that away just for the sake of making a point.
formersurgeon: (worried)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-03 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
It's not...

[She stops herself, clenches her hands on the steering wheel, holds her breath, counts to three, sighs it out. This is not worth fighting over.

Not that he's right.

Of course not.]

Fine. You can hotwire the car.
consulting_freak: (Bullet Wipe)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-03 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[As it is, he can't see any way for him to clear his name on this side of the ocean when all of this is over. Maybe if they were in the UK, he'd be able to convince his dearest brother to handle the appropriate paperwork. There's only so much the 'British Government' can do in America.

It's bad enough she's an accomplice and he knows Joan won't deny it without him putting a substantial amount of effort into convincing her it's better for one of them to stay clean.

If worse comes to worst, he'd need a contact outside of prison until he could arrange an escape. This was so much easier before Joan got involved.
]

Sleep can wait until we're in the new car.
formersurgeon: (security cameras)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-03 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[If Joan had her phone, she'd have Sherlock look up nearby malls. But she doesn't, so she's going to have to guess. She watches the food signs, and three exits down she sees signs for a ton of fat food places, plus a Starbucks and a Cinnabon.

Mall. She takes the exit.]
consulting_freak: (Circumstantial Evidence)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-03 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[While Joan takes the exit, he keeps his eyes on the cars behind them through the mirrors. One of them, two back - a dark green Lexus - pulls into their lane and follows them off the Interstate.]

Green Lexus.

[There's no proof they're being followed just by that, but there's a possibility and they both need to be on guard.]
formersurgeon: (i believe)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-03 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[She flicks her eyes up to the mirror.]

Should I try to lose them?
consulting_freak: (Cyanide)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-03 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't do anything Hollywood.

[He folds up the remainder of the Lays bag, watching the car through the mirror.]

Try driving past the mall and taking the first right. If he follows, try again. If he doesn't, go into the car park.
formersurgeon: (profiles)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-04 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Right.

[The mall is a little down the road. She goes past it, to the light, and takes a right as he said, looking up at the mirror to see if the car follows.

It does.

Her stomach tightens. She drives down the street next to the mall, goes past the last parking lot entrance, and takes another right, glancing up in the mirror after she's turned.]
consulting_freak: (Pathology)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-04 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Sherlock had gotten used to carrying a gun with him at any given moment, so much that even when he showered or slept the gun was within an arm's reach. Now, he's completely unarmed and has fatigue-weak muscles. This could be very, very bad for both of them. Especially since the driver follows Joan's second right turn.

She's noticed, so he doesn't point it out.

Now what?
]

Pull into the car park. If they keep following, we can use it as a short-cut back to the main road.

[They could always refill the gas for this car until they can lose their pursuer long enough to acquire a new vehicle.]
formersurgeon: (headtilt)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-04 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
[They're both in a bad position to be facing off with someone who means to do them harm. Joan has never used a gun, but she doesn't even have a baton. Not that a baton would help against an armed assailant.

She does as he instructs, pulling into the parking lot.]
consulting_freak: (Sciatic Notch)

[personal profile] consulting_freak 2013-10-04 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[The car continues on the side road after they pull into the lot. He watches through the mirrors, since craning his head around would be too obvious.]

They could drive back round.

[They'd have to work fast.

Or, if they're lucky, this could be a false alarm. Too bad he doesn't believe in luck or coincidence.
]
formersurgeon: (b&w)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2013-10-05 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
If we're quick, they won't be able to tell which car we're in.

[She parks on the outskirts of the lot, a few spots away from the nearest clump of cars.]

Okay. White Honda accord about seven spots over. Look good?
