He briefly glances at Ilya, then looks away, raising a hand to his chin, as if in thought, as if this is just occurring to him, and he didn't spend twenty minutes this morning practicing how he would phrase it.

"-they know we're working on the charity already. Maybe we could get lunch." He says it so quickly he almost feels lightheaded at the end. To be fair, he's the one who's been more anxious about being seen together, lately. But maybe this is it, the time he finally asks for too much.

They were still rivals as far as anyone knew, and still rivals because no one drove Ilya to want to win like Shane Hollander. And yet, both of them being captains of their respective teams meant that they did, occasionally, get calls to be in the same room together, or in this case, dining room. Ilya genuinely could not remember the names of the lovely older couple who had invited him into their home, but presumably one or both of them either owned, partially owned, or were related to someone who owned some part of the league. Maybe one of them was a politician, it reminded him of home.

[Not that Hayahide really has to hide her affections, on her side, but...When Nazuna has to stay publicly single, it keeps things from getting complicated if she also stays publicly single.

Even if it means that she's had to tell her best friends that that nice boy she was talking about is just a friend now, it's okay, she's over her little crush, don't worry about it. Perhaps she'd not thought about it all, but while Taishin could be trusted with that sort of secret, Ticket...Not so much. Not in a moment of high emotions.

So friends and fans of each other is the standard line. It's threatening enough to his fans, and to some of hers in turn, that they show up for each other in a platonic fashion. Anything more is Too Much, and Hayahide understands that now. And should they actually want to spend time as anything more, well. She bundles her hair up in a wig cap and crushes it all under a cap, alongside her ears. Her bangs tend to be enough, clipped just so, for the pretence of short hair. And if her tail stays stuffed in her pants, if she wears a baggy jumper that covers the base, then it's not so bad. It's a little annoying, and hurts when she sits, but--
