the scent of longan berry and green tea permeated the air, like a gentle breeze calling forth inara’s visitor. there was no escaping the mood set by her many rituals— incense burning, the gentle hymn of a flute far in the background, wind chimes picking up with any mild breeze. this was no companion after all, inara was an ambassador and one of the most sought after for her skills. especially when it came to those who were losing their virginity for the first time; she was gentle, guiding, and even nurturing.
