( The story isn't exactly novel. You go to New York to promote your most recent biography (Traces, a story of Cheikh Ndiaye) - Cheikh had brought Aya and the little one along, it had been... well, fun - and end up with the contact information of a hockey manager who thinks you should write your next big scoop about the guy currently standing before you, getting dressed to the nines, if you consider hockey equipment fashionable. Claude would say, contextually, they are everything they should be, at least.

He didn't know anything about hockey until this job.

He still feels that he knows too little, but all beginning is like that, and the Admirals are getting on the ice in not too long. Claude will be watching from the stands, so this is his first opportunity of getting a question or two of relevance in, right?
