there's only one bed!

Two characters have to share a room for the night. Every room is occupied, but fortunately there is one last room available.

There's just one problem — there's only one bed, and the characters aren't comfortable sharing it.

he sends Olruggio a tired smile -- what a sojourn this consultation has unfolded into; already the wee hours upon them, and the dragonherders ensconced in Olruggio's room -- before he casts about his already-tidy surroundings for aught to do.

(kept neat to hide lack: a carefully curated dearth of mementos displayed, or gifts decorating.

he keeps them, he does: gently, lovingly they are stowed in wardrobe and desk, all but swaddled away from the ravenous wriggle of a taproot, the beckon of a branch.)

ah: there's a bit that needs doing. he hangs his folded cloak and, facing away from Olruggio, brushes it out methodically.

-- and a pause, to delicately slide his fingers behind the lens of his glasses to press his fingers against a weary eye. casual, to Olruggio: ] Did you countenance that the dragonherders were terribly impressed with dinner? I'd wager it has been a good season since they last enjoyed a home-cooked meal, if I am right in understanding that the dragons' habits have kept them to the wilds through these dry months. [ smiling: ] I might steal out and cobble together a breakfast for the little one. Did you mark its insatiable interest in our indoors? This may have been its very first introduction to such a place. Imagine!
