[ While Dorian had known that leaving home to make it on his own would be difficult, he probably was a little less prepared for how difficult it was going to be.
Then again, there was never a guarantee that one was going to make it, especially in such a fickle career like music. And without the money and connections of his family (which he hadn't wanted to use anyway, that was the whole point of striking out on his own, but he can't deny that those things would definitely have helped) he was limited in available resources.
Fortunately he had been able to at least make one friend in the city. He had never expected to become friends with a porn star, but he honestly can't afford to be picky. And Angel Dust was nice enough, and at least seemed interested in him. And a part of him sort of hoped that maybe Angel knew people in the entertainment industry that he could introduce him to, that might want to listen to his music. But he doesn't want to ask about it just yet.
For now, he enjoyed the other man's company. It was certainly better than being lonely. ]

Angel enjoyed the company of others when he got to be the boldest personality in the room, he enjoyed holding court with people who found him interesting and found validation in the attention he received. Being noticed, being admired, that was everything to him, which had no small part to play in his choice of profession and the myriad messes he got himself into.
Right now he was out with Dorian and it was late, last orders had been called at the bar and they were basically the only people left in there, but Angel didn't seem to be in any hurry.
"... an' that's how I learned that just because ya can get yer asshole dyed now, don't mean ya should. What's wrong with just bleachin' it, ya know? No one wants ta be wonderin' if the color's intentional or the result of some fuckin' disease."
He laughs and sips from the remains of his pink, fruity cocktail.

Dorian can't help making a bit of a face as Angel finishes his story. "Why would anyone want to dye there?"
Taking a sip from his drink, he glances around and notices that most of the other patrons either cleared out or are starting to pack up to go.
"It looks like they're closing soon," he mentions, but doesn't otherwise say anything about it. He was fine to leave whenever Angel wanted to.

his attention, however, is not drawn fully into it, nor is he all that concerned with abbacchio's silence, to his left. leaving trish alone at the vineyard with only mista and the pistols to keep track of her had felt foolish, but appearing in public like this helps to dissuade some of the potential curiosity he feels may arise from his team's sudden punt into action. besides, fugo's hunger-driven anger can only be sated for so long, and a proper meal does well for morale. all that's left is to finish their bread, finish their wine, and head back to the base; he and giorno will take one car, and the other three will take the other, going in separate directions but ending up in the same place.
his attention isn't even drawn into the plan itself, or the subsequent orders they will surely receive soon. his attention is, as usual these days, focused to his right, where giorno is sipping a hardly-full glass of white wine and smiling, wanly, in narancia's direction.
it's a foolish thing, really. falling into one heated night together doesn't mean anything except that their passions align in more than just the direction the gang should head in; he's not some amorous fool, pining after an underling, but a practical man who knows that there is little room in his life for those kinds of pursuits, no matter how much he may have once wanted them. his parents themselves were proof enough that love dies the same way that flowers do, wrinkling and wasting away into nothing; he doesn't want to risk it, even with someone like giorno, who could likely make everything bloom again without trouble.
but: even foolish desires have their place. with a warm smile, even and measured, he finishes laying out the cash for the check and turns to giorno. )
Shall we take our leave? ( narancia's finally decided that the argument is worth less than just finishing off the rest of the bread; fugo's shooting abbacchio a look of restrained murder, which means it's perfect timing for the two of them to move off first.
