[She might wake up to the smell of eggs and vegetables cooking and Mozart playing as if on someone's phone along with the clatter of someone rummaging about in the kitchen. If she ventures out, she'll find a guy who looks alarmingly like Zeno's corporate Goth kid brother puttering about the stove, stirring up a skillet of scrambled eggs mixed with what looks like chopped peppers and onions.]

Hope you don't mind: I woke up hungry and it was the least I could do. The eggs were fine, but I slipped out for some vegetables while you were still asleep.

[He says this casually, without turning toward her, his attention on the skillet, but clearly someone has some practice in not letting people sneak up on him.]

((Could be part of a fanfic AU I've been tinkering with Albert manages to survive the Kijuju Incident and ends up working for either the BSAA or TerraSave as part of a plea deal with the World Court, or it could be something else. I'm quite adaptable!))

[ it probably says something that she knows the layout of his house well enough by now that she can navigate it in the semi-dark of early morning. she doesn't bother to wake him when her eyes open, squinting at the red numbers on his clock (six a.m. on the dot, wonderful) before slipping silently out of bed in her underwear. there's a creaky floorboard right in front of his room that she avoids, and another one in the middle of the hallway, but locating his kitchen feels almost second nature now. when did that happen? maybe it's better not to know.

aside from his bedroom, his kitchen feels the most lived-in. a familiar sight that she knows all too well, as it's mirrored in her own apartment. he does, however, have a fancier coffee machine: black and shiny with buttons for every setting. she finds herself smiling a little as she digs around for a spare mug, selecting the option for just plain black coffee.

whenever leon wakes up, he'll find her leaning against the counter with one leg bent and the other straight, sipping coffee and gazing out the window as the sun finally clears the tree line. ]
