for putting your relationships to the test

Clones. Aliens. Creatures from another dimension. Regardless of the circumstances, things aren't what they seem. For whatever reason, your character is left doubting the authenticity of those around them. Is this really happening? Are you really who you say you are? Well, prove it!

Comment with your character and preferences.
- Consider tossing up some ideas as to what's going on. Is this an invasion of the body snatchers, or did your character just hit the bong one too many times?
Those who reply are being asked to say something only they would know.
- A secret the two of you share, a fun fact that's exclusive to your character, anything that would prove your character is who they say they are.
Be convinced! Or require more proof!

possible reasons.

Body-Snatchers. The classic example. Creatures are invading the Earth and replacing your peers with alien replicas. Keep your friends close!
Magic. Same as above, but the fantasy version.
Clones. Some megacorporation is whipping up clones. Could be biological, or they could be synthetic.
Special Effects. It's all smoke and mirrors. Lights, cameras, Photoshop. But even if its' all fake, the paranoia you feel is too real.
Drugs and Alcohol. You ever get so drunk that you question the nature of your reality? Me too, bestie.
Psychosis. Breaking from reality is common for those who suffer from bouts of psychosis. What could be more scary than believing everything you know is a lie?
Memory Loss. Temporary amnesia, or something more permanent. The end result has you forgetting who the people close to you are. Ask them to remind you.
Toxins. There's something in the air. Something about this gas makes you afraid and paranoid.
Among Us. Someone in this space isn't who they say they are. They're a little sus... Maybe their goal is to kill everyone here until there's no one left. Better figure it out quick!
Nightmare. Waking up from a nightmare, or possibly being stuck inside one. Some reassurance could be nice.
Brain Break. A bit like psychosis, but more intentional. Someone or something is inflicting this horror upon you.
Imposter. Oops! Guess who was evil all along! c:
Wildcard. Bring your own imposter scenario!

((Feel free to say yes/no/amend this concept as needed but I am envisioning a scenario like The Thing where there are so many of Orin's little friends running around that there's some amnesty (or alternatively, direct coercion and captivity) for alchemists and artificers willing to help Gortash come up with a physical test for them. Paranoia and SpiderMan-pointing ensues.))
