With this kink, one party has strange, inhuman biology that doesn't fit the norm. New to This. So you were a normal person who got hit with a blast of cosmic radiation and now you lay eggs. You're learning how this new biology works along with the rest of us. It's fine. Just stay on the sunny side, and it'll all work out.
Natural. This is just who you are. You've always been like this. Sure, it can make dating a little eggs-hausting, but the right partner will surely understand.
The Talk. Someone's got some explaining to do before they do this. Ease your partner out of their shell.
Surprise. Or, nope, no explaining. Trial by fire. Learn in the moment. Hope your partner has an open mind and a heart for egg-citement.
Biology. Normal anatomy is hardly enough to get these eggs going. Weird vulvas, tapered dicks, and latching tentacles work wonders to get those eggs from Point A to Point B.
Heat. Any other time, sex is normal. But when the heat rolls in, things get a little scrambled. You've got a need to seed. Hard to think about anything but the biological imparative.

It was nice to be back on their own again even if they really had no suitable purpose in Skala at this point in time save for the petty machinations of the wealthy and titled. This meant the usual forays into social events that made Alec uncomfortable (even though he masked his distaste for them with a charming smile and his ingenue ways); likewise, it also meant the nightrunning expeditions which Alec found absolutely exhilrating.

It managed to for the most part curtail the feeling of restlessness that pulsed through him, that hadn't quite left. That same restlessness that made the bitemark against his ear warm to the touch, though he barely paid attention to it. Perhaps he should have.

Perhaps it made him a little more aggressive.

Not in a social setting. Oh no, he was a perfect gentleman there-- always ready with a kind word that seemed to amuse the rich and famous of the Skalan social scene, always ready with a charming joke and maybe even a smile. Some pretty girl or man usually hanging on to his every word though they usually scattered at Lord Seregil's approach.

No, it was in the moments before dawn when they came back to their lodgings on wheel street and he grabbed Seregil to kiss him, those moments where it was a backward race to the bed as clothing found their way from body to floor with record speed. What was strange was those moments when Alec was alone and he felt the strange need to pile all of Seregil's clothes on the bed, forming a nest of scent of which he would curl up within. To be fair, he tried to throw them back down before Seregil came back.

But this time, he'd fallen asleep amongst them, cuddling up close with the familar scent of Seregil's musk drifting him off to sleep.

It was nice to be back to their more normal lives. Seregil had intended never to come back to Rhiminee, but so much had happened since that time, maybe even just the tiniest bit of healing -- only enough that being back here did feel like home. Having Alec beside him made that all the more true. Wherever his talimenios was, that was where he ought to be.

Slipping back into the habit of nightrunning was nice too. Skills that hadn't seen much use in the recent past were coming back to him and shaking off the rust they'd gathered while they'd been left idle. He felt more like himself, he supposed.

But there was an undercurrent of restlessness to him as well, a prickle over his skin that really only seemed to settle when he and Alec were back behind closed doors and there was nothing between them, nothing to stop hands and mouths and a tangle of limbs and bodies. He hadn't thought too much about it; Illior knew the two of them were prone to falling into one another's arms given any length of time to themselves. If there was something more to it now, Seregil hadn't noticed.

He did, however, notice his talimenios curled in peaceful slumber and felt something go warm in him, a sense of peace that was still surprising to him when it found him. It took Seregil a moment to realize that Alec had apparently gathered his discarded clothing up to surround himself with. That was new. A curious hum, but he only smiled as he moved to take a seat on the edge of the bed. His hand reached out to smooth golden hair back from Alec's face.

"Did you miss me so much, tali?"
