Sex is great and all, but have you ever reduced someone to a shell of their former self?

Through various means, this meme is all about getting into people's heads. The end goal of these mindfucks is up to the character, naturally. What is it that they want, anyway? To gaslight someone into doing their bidding? To wield ultimate power over someone else? Maybe they're just looking for love and going about it the wrong way, Misery style? Or, maybe they just want to hurt people.

Generally, these things take time, so expect a slowburn into despair with some of these prompts.

how to play

Comment with your character, your preferences, and how you'd like to go your torture. Break some bones, inflict some trauma, go nuts. Additionally, make sure to warn for content.
Reply to others.
Send therapy bills in the mail.

physical

sensory deprivation - You know, you don't realize how much you rely on sight and sound until they're taken away from you...
sleep deprivation - Sleep is so important! It would be a shame if someone prevented you from doing that with loud noises and spray bottles.
electrostim - Zap zap.
positioning - Keeping someone on their knees, or in a small, uncomfortable space for a long period of time is its own form of torture.
non-con - A different kind of torture, but horrible nonetheless.
picking / peeling - You remember that scene from Game of Thrones? The one where he pulls another person's skin off?
dismemberment - You don't need ALL of your fingers, and there are tons of medical remedies for a missing foot these days.
surgery - It may be experimental, but I hear some of those organs, you don't even need!
water - Sleeping in water, waterboarding, using water as a punishment...
nature - They've been bad, so it's time to leave them exposed to the elements. They can come inside once they've earned it.
fire - Branding, burning, or even holding a flame near your victim's face without touching them... All fire-related things can get pretty hot.
love taps - Little pokes and pricks might not seem like much, but over time, they can become enough to make you want to pull your hair out.
hair - Shaving someone's head, or changing their physical appearance in a drastic way can go a long ways when it comes to depersonalization.
scarring / tattooing - Not only is it painful; it's permanent.
petifiy - Taking someone from a human to a pet might include leashes and collars, or making them act in an animalistic way.
dehumanize - Real food is for real people. Eat from the trash, creature.
punishment - Something about chains and whips.
mock execution - Aw, come on, bro. It's just a prank. The gun wasn't even loaded!
tender touch - Between rounds of brutality, it doesn't hurt to butter them up with love and kisses. It keeps them on their toes, never sure of what to trust.
writer's choice - Something we left out? Throw it in!

emotional + psychological

kidnap / stockholm - Spend enough time around someone and eventually your spirit will be broken, am I right?
gaslight - Sewing seeds of doubt until someone's left questioning their entire reality. What do you mean? That never happened!
memory wipe - Through science or through magic, erase away all the memories you don't want them to have. If they don't remember, did it even happen?
humiliation / shame - Take this one as you will. Public humiliation, private humiliation, humiliation in the bedroom... all of it can do a number on the psyche.
against their will - They don't want to [insert horrible thing here], but you're not leaving them much of a choice.
conditions - Everything could be so nice! All they have to do is follow your rules.
renaming - It goes hand-in-hand with striping someone of their identity. That old name never suited you anyway.
vicious mockery - What are you? An idiot sandwich!
behind closed doors - In public, the two of you seem as happy as ever. It's when you're out of the public eye that the breakdown begins.
identity crisis - Do you know who you are? Do you really know who you are? Look in the mirror. What do you see?
threats - Do that again and see what happens.
control / monitoring - They're watching. Always watching... All that means is that you ought to be on your best behavior at all times!
enemies in everyone - You trust me, right? So when I say everyone is out to get you, what reason do you have not to believe me?
yelling - Not quite as elegant as some of the others on this list, but raising one's voice is sure to leave a lasting impression on someone.
cuckhold - Aw, did you really think you were special? You could be replaced at any point. See?
torture another - We can't let you have all the fun. So we brought in someone close to you to share in the misery!
isolation - Keeping them all to yourself. No one can help.
learned helplessness - The exit is right there, but they're so broken down from repeated brain breaks that they don't even consider going for it.
ransom - There's something humbling about being at the mercy of someone, lest they share all your secrets with the world.
writer's choice - Something we left out? Throw it in!

[here (mostly) only for the emotional + psychological type of things, welcome to the dark side that is her mind in canon too but this may get even worse (it's okay, she is used to some of those things already happening to her for all her life...) not interested in 15 from that list. Definitely NOT the one torturing anyone else than herself with anything unless someone wiped her memories about yours or something else like that because then I guess that would be torture for both. Could be something like that or someone's memories about her being erased or could be this girl suffering from emotional + psychological torture from someone in some other ways. Looks at physical list again like I'll mostly stay away from that but, uh, I guess you could change her hair in some way and tender touches between emotional + psychological could work too but as much as I love Criminal Minds and other crime shows, most of that physical list really isn't for me or for threads with me.

OTA gen, if you want it to be anything more serious then 20+ OTA. Castmates (especially JINUS and her girls), crosscanon, crossmedium, assumed CR, AUS, OCS etc all always welcome.]

Volunteering Os to be the unlucky one - not terribly interested in skin-peeling, mock-execution, torturing another, or cuckhold, but the rest are on the table. Would prefer prose and to take things to a musebox!]
