The name Frankenstein was known having gone back as far as Earth, but its long history long forgotten. The family kept to themselves in a remote part of Beaumonde, wealth laying in cattle these days. In dairy, in meat, and everything in between, nothing went to waste. Workers were paid handsomely, and the stock treated very well.

Funny thing about the family, there was only one member, in so far as it seemed anyway. And few ever met him in person.

The house was extremely modest considering the wealth the name held. Simple living, the grounds were woodlands and animals came and went around the place comfortably and without fear.

A lone figure stood at the landing platform to greet her, pushing seven feet tall, broad, and dressed in a heavy coat with furs, his face hidden in darkness of the hood. It was winter, and light snow fell on his imposing form.

When she approached, he bowed politely. "My lady." his voice was deep, but quiet, each word enunciated steadily.

The texts from Chishiya were troubling at best - he wasn't always proper with his punctuation but he never misspelt words or missed them. The texts were stumbling over one another, almost feverish? So, in his usual worried manner, he takes the rooftip trip across the city until he is opening the doctor's door luck with his telekinesis and letting himself in.

"Chishiya-san?" He calls out, unlacing his boots - why does he always wear boots with so many damn laces? - in the genkan before letting himself into the apartment. He never lets himself into the other man's apartment like t his, but...

It’s a rare night off for Ilya at the end of the week- one that he has been looking forward to for a while now. Normally he’d want to spend it laying on his couch with a tub of ice cream, playing video games, but Svetlana is hellbent on dragging him out to this new club she got wind of earlier this week. Apparently it’s the coolest new club in town and everyone’s been dying to get in. She has connections, so here they are.

The bass is already vibrating through the pavement by the time they step out of the car.
Ilya pauses on the sidewalk, hands shoved into the pockets of his leather jacket, eyes dragging up the sleek black entrance to the club. A line curls around the block— everyone looks beautiful.

Svetlana beams beside him like she personally owns the place. She might as well, the way she bypasses the whole line, her arm looped through his to tug him along. “See?” she says, “If you stay home every night you will become boring. Tragic. We can’t let that happen.”

“I am already tragic,” Ilya mutters, but he lets her tug him into the club- all low lights and sparkling accents, with the perfect kind of strobe lighting that can make someone’s insides shine as well. It’s crowded, but not in an uncomfortable way. There’s laughter spilling over the music, the DJ perched above like a god conducting chaos.

Okay… it’s good. Better than he expected.

Ilya exhales slowly, letting the noise settle into him instead of fight against it. Tonight, he’s not working. No carefully curated smiles. No measured touches. No pretending to be exactly what someone needs. Just him. He can just be himself tonight.

Svetlana disappears toward the bar with a wink, leaving him near the edge of the dance floor. He leans back against a column, scanning the crowd more out of habit than intention, just taking it all in, letting himself let go.
