(( I've only seen a small handful of episodes of windbreaker so I'm basically canon blind, but if you're interested in playing something out regardless I think it could be fun? I'm also equally down for either role. Yuri is usually on the calm side outside of emergencies, so that role would suit them. But if Yuri's the one being calmed, they're probably freaking out because something happened to trigger some PTSD (like being attacked/stalked) and/or they're simply waking up from a nightmare after dozing off? If it's vice-versa, maybe Yuri is trying to stop your guy from getting into a fight or something... I'm open to various ideas if you wanna keep plotting, as long as we're having fun!))

[sounds like the most realistic situation would be kiryu getting yuri away from an attacker/stalker - since doing that's a big part of who he is - and some aftermath? they could be strangers or au where they know each other somehow, if you have a preference.]

[As it turns out, mixing infinity stone energies, reality warping magic, and the quantum bands can lead to literally anything happening. In Kamala's case, the band responded to her wish to save the world while under severe emotional distress by removing her and itself from it entirely. The world is saved, even if her new friends are doomed... or at least it appeared that way. Kamala can't be sure if their distress was real or a manipulation by the zombie queen.

Either way, she's stranded in a bright and loud world similar to the one she lost years ago alongside her family. Her arrival in this new world isn't quiet. The use of even one quantum band mixed with the long gone infinity energies has attracted attention.

Kamala didn't survive the world ending as a child by accident. She knows how to run and evade. The undead are frankly much scarier than men with guns that announce their intentions ahead of time.

She gives them all the slip and finds a quiet place to breakdown in an old building far from where she arrived.

Her mind was under literal attack not even an hour ago by a witch. She's pretty sure every friend she ever made is dead. Her optimism and bravery in the face of certain doom has its limit. Kamala allows herself to finally break down and cry for all of them. For once, her pain doesn't have meaning. It isn't part of a journey to save the world. It just hurts.]

[Peter is trying to keep up with his new life. At best, he mostly manages. At worse, he's trying to keep from getting fired from his third job in a month in between too many late nights chasing after too many jerks with too much access to advance technology and the possibility of endangering even more people in the process.

Today is a secret third option: an in-between kind of day, half not gone to hell entirely and the other half racing downwards as he swings.

The sudden noise breaks through his thoughts; Peter pivots from heading back towards his apartment after a long day and night of fighting crime towards the source of the noise.

He's swinging through an older building when he hears the sound of what seems like someone crying. Not wanting to startle someone who might be already upset, Peter swings down and calls out.]

[Kate was the one who taught Kamala how to truly be alert in every situation. She called the shots in every battle against the undead until she too was lost. Even while being emotionally wrecked, the training is too engrained into Kamala's head. She's always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The swinging catches her attention enough to listen for the hello that follows. She's still crying. That much cannot be helped.

Kamala is getting to her feet. She's ready to run even through the tears. Light gathers at her fists as she shakily responds,]

I don't want to fight! Just leave me alone! [She doesn't realize Spider-Man is the one dropping in on her. The only got a day together before it all fell apart. She wouldn't recognize his voice by a single word.]

Things had been odd since worlds had started falling into each other, but most of the mutants and mutates had been building friendships.

Peter seemed to be on sensory overload after another skirmish with Doom. Things were mostly chilling out now, but there were still flair ups.

She takes his hand, her apartment isn't too far, "Let's get you someplace quiet and dark."

Peter tries to not think about, well, everything, really, too hard. He tries not to think of the recent fighting (and the recent losses), and he tries not to think of how badly that last fight against Doom went.

He shudders but grips Izzy's hand gratefully. "Thanks," he says, quiet. "I really appreciate it."

He tries not to close his eyes and sink into everything he's left behind.
