[Whelk doesn't sleep. Not really. Not in a meaningful way, no rest, but he dreams. His nightmares take all forms, seem to worsen with the fluctuations of the ley line. The usual characters are obvious; he tries not to think of them. What's odd - and for that oddness, particularly disturbing - about tonight's dream is the face of a woman that shouldn't be there.

[It's a terrible scene, Whelk with bloody hands. He wakes up with sweat beading on his forehead, breath coming short. It's hard to say what rattles him so deeply. Erin is just another background character in his life. Why was her head split open?
