I can't believe I forgot to post this on Threshold Day! IYKYK!

You are now a native of the Star Trek universe and bound to its laws. Let's get to work!
Choose Your Adventure! (Roll 1 to 14!)

You are now a native of the Star Trek universe and bound to its laws. Let's get to work!
1. Away Mission!
You've just beamed down to an unexplored planet. Is it inhabited? Is it habitable? Just be sure not to break the Prime Directive
2. First Contact!
You are about to make the first, official contact with an alien civilization. Whether you are seeking them out or they are seeking you out, try to make a good impression.
3. Battle Stations!
All hands to battle stations! Shields are at full power and weapon systems are prepared for combat.
4. Red Alert!
Something has gone wrong! It is an all out emergency but what is it? Has something happened in engineering to cause radiation to flood the ship? Are you being boarded? Either way, hope you survive the experience!
5. Shore Leave!
Exactly like it says on the tin. Maybe you're going to Risa. It's time to settle down with a nice drink and relax. If you're alone, try picking up Horga'hn.
You have some free time. All of time. All of space. All of everything. What's your program of choice?
7. Lost in space!
Something terrible has happened. Maybe you're in a shuttle that's lost most of its power and now you're adrift. Maybe said shuttle crashed landed on an unknown planet. Whatever it was, you now find yourself lot. Let's hope you know how to send out an intergalactic SOS!
8. You Do Need an Education!
You've just enrolled in the Starfleet Academy. Located in San Francisco, this educational facility preps all that have been accepted. It's a lot of work. Study. Study. Study. However, that doesn't mean there isn't time for the occasional hijinx.
9. Stations in Space!
It is a station in space. Space is all around. Maybe you're a resident or it is a temporary point until something better comes your way. Maybe you live on board a vessel that is about to dock. Maybe it'll be a nice change of pace.
10. Wild Card!
Pick whichever option you like best. I bet you thought this would be at the end. Well, it's not.
11. Tribbletastic!
The terrific thing about tribbles is that tribbles are terrific things. Their insides are made of stuff, their bottoms are made of the fluff. But the most terrific thing about tribbles is that tribbles are everywhere. It would be a tribble shame if they got into any important systems.
12. Q-who?
You're a member of a nearly omnipotent, immortal race of beings who have mastered the ability of time-travel and transformation. Maybe you're one of the 'almost respectable' ones. Maybe you're a trouble-maker. Either way, what could go wrong?
13. SmörgåsBORG.
They are the Borg. Resistance is futile. Either you're facing a boarding party or you and your crew accidentally ran into them. Maybe you'll be assimilated and need to be rescued. They're a bit like zombies, only they don't want to eat you. They just want to assimilate you and add your distinct uniqueness to themselves.
14. Mirror mirror on the wall...

good luck?
But who here doesn't have a Past, right? That's practically the one thing that defines this entire generation of Starfleet Academy students. And so far, Stiles has been doing pretty good, aside from some reports of snarking at professors and shit. Kids stuff. So it's kind of a surprise when he suddenly "freaks out" on Caleb Mir - a fellow student he's previously gotten along fine with - and ends up in a physical fight that results in multiple broken bones on both sides.
He took a trip to medical before being called into the Chancellor's office, so aside from lingering soreness from rapid healing, he's not doing too bad. Aside from, uh, everything else about this situation. "If I just say it won't happen again, can we pretend this didn't happen?"
this is beautiful
It had started well, aside from mild disagreements. Teething problems and kid shit. It was fine. And then the fists flew.
She'd been curled up with a book in her office when the reports had first pinged across her desk. Her conversation that had followed with Lura had thrown around various ideas, ranging from consequences to more drastic actions, and she'd had the cadet sent to her office.
Reading his file as she waited, Nahla knew he was one of the cadets she'd not personally encountered yet, though there'd been good reason not to. He'd started well, studied, and came from an easier, Starfleet background. If you overlooked the stranger parts of his file, which likely wouldn't make it onto the records his future Captains saw (it wasn't something you'd want first known about you).
When he enters her office, she's by the fire, standing as he approaches. There's a quick shake of her head, her hands spreading out before she speaks.
"Not a chance." And then Nahla gives a quick gesture with her head to the seat in front of him, expecting him to sit.
"How about we start with why it happened? Was this a "he said something to piss me off" or did you roll out of bed on the wrong side?"
:3
But it used to be that if he was in trouble, he was facing his dad or a number of other officers who would typically refer him to his dad. Not the Captain/Chancellor of Starfleet Academy.
Nepo baby.He sits as indicated and takes a second to orient himself, glancing down at his hands to check that everything's... right. Two thumbs, eight fingers, everything arranged correctly. It's not an absolute guarantee that this is real and not a dream, but it's pretty good.
"Look, I didn't... I didn't mean to punch him. I know that sounds stupid because my fist hit him, but I was actually not trying to get in a fight."
no subject
"Then give me something that would hold off your expulsion."
She throws out the words partly as shock value, and partly to make sure he's listening, that he knows that this is serious. When his first hope was brushing it off, she wanted to be certain he would take notice.
Expulsion wasn't actually in the cards, even if Lura had floated the words. Nahla would fight for all of her cadets, as she had already against Caleb's stupid actions. One fight wasn't enough for that end, but she didn't want it to be a path he went down. She wanted him to think and excel.
"Cadet, you threw the first punch. Why?"
no subject
Nepo baby. The problem is, telling the truth also seems kind of likely to get him expelled for being mentally unfit to be here. So. There's that, too.
"It was a kind of reflex."
no subject
That's a lie. Nahla absolutely can believe it; she'd just hoped he'd have been smarter than to use it.
She spins her chair towards her, releasing a heavier sigh as she sinks into it.
"Not cutting it." She puts her glasses on before drawing the padd that's on her desk towards her, a tap on it activating it as she lists it, looking over the file she'd left there. Not that she needed to, she'd memorised the details, but it was for show. "The Doctor's report highlighted just how many bones were broken between you. That's not just a reflex." Her eyes flick up to him, the padd lowered back to the desk.
"Give me something real. It might help." At least with the consequences he'd be dealing with. Lowering the hours of menial labour was always hopeful.
no subject
He rubs a palm over his face as he internally waves goodbye to any chance he had of getting through this without Consequences(TM). Not just menial labor consequences, but like - people digging around in his head consequences. (There wasn't a chance of that anyway, though, was there? Not once his dad found out.)
(It's not like it would be the first time he's been forced into counseling against his will, anyway. And weirdly enough, looking at the Chancellor now, something pops into his head that was said to him during one of those sessions: if you're going through hell, keep going.)
"I was being literal," he says quietly. "I didn't mean to punch him. I didn't see him. I thought - something else was there. And when I realized what had actually happened, he'd already reacted."
no subject
The silence that stretches out once he's done speaking is likely a little torturous, but she's getting her thoughts in order.
And then she nods, accepting the explanation. It doesn't mean he walks away with zero consequences, but Nahla does believe him.
"I've read your file. I assume what you saw was something you've experienced before?"
It's a detail she won't push on more than that, not asking him to explain what he saw, just taking it at face value. She understands how trauma can linger, how it can shoot back up unexpectedly.
"Should I be concerned that it happens often?"

Alternatively, maybe her people's initial attempt to infiltrate got blown wide open by a plucky Starfleet crew already.
