Half an hour after sex and they were still in bed together. He liked it there, curled up together, even though he knew it wouldn't last. Hollander would go off to his bed sooner or later and then it would be weeks or months until they saw each other again. An argument with himself for another time.

Tonight he was mildly concerned. Something was going on with Hollander. He was still awake and, assuming his eyes were open, had been staring at one spot on Ilya's chest for at least half of that half hour. And he was tense. Ilya could see the muscles of his shoulders and knew that whatever he was thinking, it wasn't a good thought.

He needed to talk. Or get his mind on something else. Or just not think at all.

He pushed Hollander off his shoulder gently.

"Get on your stomach," he ordered quietly. He knew what Hollander would assume and he wasn't completely wrong to think that Ilya had ulterior motives, but it was also true they weren't likely what Hollander was assuming. At least not his immediate motives.

[The man has the nervous system of a small prey animal, so he definitely needs some calming down. Maybe he's been shot, or had a near-death experience. Or is just in the midst of processing some BIG, loud emotions, as he is wont to do. Rage, sadness, all that. Alternatively, for something AU-flavoured, he's in feral vampire mode and needs to be talked down before he hurts himself or someone else.]

Teddy can have panic attacks [rarer these days] and rarely registers their constant lowkey anxiety: that can be about politics or their own creative output or [insert AU danger/trauma!].

They also can be distressed after seizures if you feel up to playing with post-ictal Teddy (more on their specific epilepsy).

But, they’re a good and willing caretaker. And will sing to/play for (or with!) your char if they want, whether to chase away nightmares or just distract.]

[Diplomat that he is, Alric is very likely to be the one doing the calming, but there could definitely be cases where he'd benefit from the calming influence of someone he trusts, especially if it's them he's concerned about it he just needs to be distracted from something that's out of his hands.]
