Jealousy is an ugly trait, you know.

People have different levels of comfort when it comes to their significant other or person they're with. Some trust implicitly, knowing that nothing will come between them. Others try to be tolerant, though supposed hints keep them feeling uneasy. Still others, being hurt in the past, can take every little thing as a slight.

However, there isn't much wiggle room when someone makes a pass at your lover right in front of you.

And, to top things off, your partner didn't react with the right amount of disgust. Maybe they were trying to be friendly and polite, and surely they HAD to realize that they were being flirted with. It was a complete bald-faced attempt.

Even if you're the most patient, understanding person in the world, this has to get your dander up. Nobody would expect otherwise. So, how will things go down from here? Will you try to get over it? Repress it and let things bubble out into passive aggression? Get angry? That last one may make matters worse -

[It's a glitzy club downtown, the heart of the city's nightlife even on days their two teams aren't colliding on the ice beforehand. But tonight it's a bit crazy, with more Metros than Raiders in the place - and perhaps Ilya is biased. He thinks they look like cockroaches swarming all over everything and everyone, namely because they won. He takes his bitterness with a free shot of vodka by the bar.

Others on his team went elsewhere - more discreet pubs to get wasted in, or to find themselves a distracting hook up. He was ragged on a little for not joining them but under the premise of using this club as a pick up spot himself, (some of the hottest women in the city after all,) he's there. But it just so happens to coincidentally be the bar that Hollander's been seen at with Landry and maybe this is a little bit more self-inflicted punishment for losing - threatening himself with what he doesn't want to see.

So, predictably, he turns when he hears a rush of voices across the club - did he finally arrive or is Ilya still lingering here for nothing? He wants a cigarette but settles for another shot, waving the bartender to keep them coming while he prepares to stare down Hollander regardless of his entourage.]
