One thing Lois has to appreciate about Clark’s apartment is how everything is Clark-sized, from his bed to his other non-descript pieces of furniture to his shower, which is a lot roomier than hers and has nice water pressure to boot. She’s pretty fond of her overstuffed apartment after a few years of filling it with everything she can’t fit at her desk at the office, but it does have some quirks of an older building, like pipes that rattle and sometimes take forever to warm up on a winter morning. Lois still can’t help but wonder how Clark found such a nice place on their salary. Maybe it’s rent controlled.

There’s no problem with Clark’s shower warming up quickly. Lois leaves him sleeping in his bed, looking so temptingly peaceful that she almost changes his mind and slides back in it with him, but hey, she can always do that after. She ties up her hair, intending on a quick rinse, though it turns into a longer period of just standing under the spray because it’s so nice and hot and pounds on her shoulders like a good massage. She’s in a distinctly good mood for a version of Lois-who-hasn’t-had-her-morning-coffee when she steps out and dries herself with one of Clark’s towels, wrapping it around herself before she comes back out into the bedroom with her skin flushed and some damp strands of hair sticking to her neck.

( it's the night when pam finally rises, the shutters on the window rising with her. she'd rented them a blacked-out hotel room, allowing her to sleep safely in the bed during the day, and the room free for agatha to use at will.

she's woken before to find the witch gone, but this time she's there, a drink in hand, bathrobe wrapped around her. the sight of her brings a small smile to the vampire's lips as she lounges back against the bed )

[ copia isn't surprised that their relationship has finally ended up here, not exactly, but there is a part of him that's a little surprised that rain had been so patient with him, and that he'd never seemed to take it personally. certainly, the other man had dew and the other ghouls, but he'd still felt unreasonably guilty, even with rain's assurances that it was fine, that he was happy with the intimacy they did share.

he feels a little stupid about it all now. he's not broken, he's just different, and rain seems satisfied whether they have sex or not. though.. it's admittedly nicer than he remembers from before, waking mornings with more pleasant aches than his usual kind, being able to trace faint bruises and scratches from the night before, and recall vividly how they were made. he also sleeps better in general with rain in bed with him, but particularly after nights like last night.

.. though he's still awake far too early. even with the curtains drawn over his window, he knows the sun has barely even considered peeking over the horizon, and his alarm will probably go off in the next thirty or forty minutes. until then, though, he has nowhere to be and no reason not to linger in bed like the hedonist he never quite learned how to be.

over the night, wrapped up in sheets and copia's heavy comforter, rain's cool skin has warmed to an almost human temperature against his own, and in the near-dark of the room, his lashes are a dark smudge against his grayish cheekbones. sleepy and content and feeling helplessly in love, copia shifts against him, hand slipping from its place on the ghoul's ribs, up his bare chest. it lingers there for a moment just for the pleasure of touching him, feeling his chest rise and fall in sleep, before emerging from the sheets to brush his index finger gently over that fan of his lashes, then down the bridge of his nose. they're twined so close, sharing the same pillow, that he could easily lean in to kiss him, but he's reluctant to wake him up. .. especially when copia's just being a weirdo watching him sleep. ]
