Thanksgiving season is a time for family. But sometimes family sucks, so we're offering you an alternative: get drunk and have dinner with your friends instead!
At Friendsgiving, everyone has a good time! The food is tasty, the drinks are plentiful, and the games played thereafter are way better than your grandma's games. Trust us.
So bring a dish and pull up! This dinner can't start without you!
how to play
1. Create a top-level with your character and what they're bringing to this dinner party. Bonus points if they can cook. Extra bonus points if they can't.
2. Tag around and enjoy your night!
preparation - Early arrival? Don't worry; someone here will put you to work. Set the table, plate some dishes, make sure that turkey hasn't caught on fire.
mealtime - The main event! It's what everyone is here for, so sit down and dig in. We insist. We beg, even. Please, please eat.Maybe the food has special truth serum effect? It's a meme; we know what we're here for.
arguments - Would it really be a holiday season without arguments across the table? Something about the combination of good food and good drinks can really loosen people's lips. What are you fighting about this time?
drinks - Speaking of, this party has quite the array! Shots, ciders, eggnog, beers. Whoever got placed in charge of choosing drinks did a bang-up job.
gratitude game - This one might be something you find at your grandma's house, but all the same: everyone goes around and says something they're thankful for. Maybe it's less of a game and more of a bonding experience.
pumpkin hunt - Another cute one, a scavenger hunt around the house to find teeny, tiny pumpkins. How quaint!
adult party games - These games are for grown-ups, so send the kids to bed or something. Truth or shot, spin the bottle, Never Have I Ever, Seven Minutes in Heaven — horny games but make them festive.
ugly sweater contest - A staple of any holiday season. When you're with friends, you should probably be as tacky as possible. The cheesier, the better.
karaoke, etc - Less mature than some of the other games, but still something to get everyone laughing. Maybe a round of Heads Up, or breaking out the karaoke machine to sing that song that's big on the radio right now. Dancing? People dance at these sorts of things!
[ If he's good for anything, it's cooking; he's English, but maybe he's entertaining American friends? Maybe it's just a regular day and he's using it as an excuse to cook a massive roast? What're they gonna do, arrest him? I doubt it. ]
[With his sense of how everything needs to be neat and orderly, the meal will look and taste amazing. However, get the hell out of his way if you're gonna just goof around, because he can and will throw something at you if you're not contributing.]
