1. proposal {
1. park - you've been planning this proposal for awhile and have taken your sweetheart to a nice secluded area in the park. are they going to say yes or leave you in the dust?
2. house - dimmed lights, candles, home made dinner. it's obvious you've fixed yourself up for something tonight. let's see if your lover catches on before the question is popped.
3. public event - perhaps you're one who wants to gain a lot of attention; maybe your significant other doesn't as much. either way, this goes from writing their message in the sky with an airplane to something like a flash mob ensemble with others involved.
4. restaurant - nothing romantic like taking them out somewhere ritzy and hiding the rings in that glass of expensive wine.
5. car - you've driven them somewhere nostalgic or meaningful either to you or each other, or perhaps just a good view overlooking the city cause maybe you had no other idea how to do it or couldn't afford anything else.
2. marriage {
1. traditional - both parties have agreed and said yes, and everything goes well just like in the fairy tales you've always dreamed of.
2. arranged - you had no say so in this but somebody else like your parents did. you've never seen this person before until you walk down the aisle. what are your thoughts? are you nervous? what if you two don't get along? looks like you have to deal with it either way. enjoy?
3. elope - nothing fancy. you know, they do make drive thru chapels or perhaps you're just going to experience the excitement of meeting up at the court. all and all, it doesn't matter, just so you have your sweetheart to yourself.
4. shotgun - congrats, somebody is pregnant. there's only one more thing left to do now..
5. disaster - looks like somebody forgot the rings! never mind the fact the maid of honor is having a wardrobe malfunction or that soon to be father in law is causing a scene of some sort.
3. after marriage {
1. honeymoon night - self explanatory! come on, you know what this means. it just wouldn't be the same without this option.
2. new addition - it could be a pregnancy or bringing home a new child, or something as simple as a new pet goldfish.
3. house purchase - after months of living in a trashy apartment, you're both about to sign the dotted line and move into your new place.
4. argument - deep, relationship sort of arguments or something petty like who drank all the milk; it's up to you!
5. divorce - somebody has had enough of this and is ready to move on. how will it all go down?
4. domesticity {
1. household chores - it's time to clean/cook/garden/take care of something! do you work together, or does one of you hide until everything is done?
2. shopping - whether it's for furniture, groceries, or something in between, shopping is something that everybody must do at some point in time! what varies is if they like it or not.
3. family vacation - WE'RE OFF TO DIDNEY WOOOOOOOOORL or wherever
... well, as long as the kids are happy, right...? you may not be happy (or maybe you are), but it's mainly about ~family bonding~.
4. romantic retreat - it's you and your loved one's anniversary, and you decide it's time to take some time off and take them somewhere nice, where you only have each other.
5. comfort - is somebody sick in bed? or perhaps they just had a bad day? sometimes, a good breakfast in bed or a home-cooked meal can really lift the spirits! or perhaps you want to try medicine, or laughter, or something else?
6. holiday - happy birthday/New Years/Christmas/Valentine's Day/whatever! it's a very special day that only comes once a year, so make it count!
7. making up -it's time to make amends for that fight/divorce/whatever you had before! after all, you love each other... right?
8. surprise, surprise - you are feeling rather loving tonight, so you want to remind the other person how much you cherish and appreciate them... if it's by something cute and adorable or hot and sexy is completely up to you. |

Her family being up in arms over it? A possibility she had not predicted. Colleen had assumed that the man she had a brief fling with wouldn't have been found.
But here she is being given some time with him while other people make the arrangements. Colleen did not expect things to end up with both of them being pushed into marriage. She didn't expect to feel a little shy given how months ago she had been very forward. He had been cute. ]

If Kat and Teor were here he would have been completely drunk, but her family were dealing with Hal instead who was much calmer and more used to this sort of thing given Azune had no idea where his blood family actually was.

"They fuss. I have an old injury that gives me trouble," she explains. "It wasn't giving me any issues when you and I met."
Colleen had thought he was cute. It doesn't hurt that he has a good smile that makes her feel weak in the best ways for Azune. "I always knew I wanted a family. I just hadn't been...you kniw. Actively looking. I thought when the time came I'd find someone. Looks like we both got a bit of a surprise."

There had been something that called to him with Colleen that drew him to her, much like with Bolarie and Thajiz.
"A pleasant suprise to be sure...not that I am bringing much to this union," he admits.

Azune is that company. She had felt drawn to him. Colleen only feels a little guilty she hadn't warned him.
"Let's not worry about that. If yoh worry about what you bring to the table then we might miss out on the things we can enjoy." It feels like they won't have much time between now and then birth of the twins. She's certain it's twins.

She's on her way to loving him. It's just all slightly out of order because she's carrying his children. Colleen hadn't expected a fling that had left her feeling delighted every time she saw him turning to this.
"And I look forward to when they're more active. I...I wanted you to get to enjoy that. I didn't intend on hiding this, I was just surprised...then my sister found out and accidentally told our mother."

"I don't blame you for keeping quiet," Azune says softly as he squeezes her hand. "With the recent execution things in the city are tense and I understand wanting to be safe."
Azure would have suggested that Colleen leave for safety sake but he also remembered her charmingly stubborn nature and knew that wouldn't go over well.

"Actually. I was worried I was wrong about being pregnant at first....then worried I had kept it to myself for too long. Bridget was furious with me for worrying so much."

Azune is on edge himself given his own role in things. So far no one seems to know his involvement in trying to help Thazji escape and he is going to do his best to keep that quiet. But given the recent attack on Houses Davions and Royce and Occtis change in status eyes are going to be on him much harder. Hopefully those eyes will drift elsewhere for a while now that he is married with children on the way.
"Those are fair worries to have," he says, "my status will have more eyes on us for a while until the shine has worn off."

"Besides, should anyone pry too much you can just remind them that your wife would like you home." She flashes him an amused look. "I won't ask questions. I only ask you try to be safe...I am sure my protective sister will not let me grab a sword to go rescue you."

"I will do my best to be safe," Azune promises, "for both you and the children, but I have put protections in place with both Hal and Juilan Davions should things not go my way" Hal was easy to make promises with, Julian a little harder given their ties and uneasy trust between them. "You and the children will be protected should the worst happen to me."

Azune feels like everything she has ever wanted in a partner. "I have been good at protecting myself. I know you've only known me for a bit but....I am much stronger than you think. No one will harm our family."
That sounds like an oath almost.

Azure is already in love. How could he not be with someone so fierce who unlike others understands his idealistic nature without thinking him a fool for it. He would do anything to keep his new family safe, even lie or steal. He will not let anything dark touch any of them. "I will not let harm come to them either. Even if that means risking my position."

"We'll just prepare. In the meantime....I may settle in a part of the city that feels safer. Someplace that won't feel too off for us to live in. No offense my dear but I don't think I should be living out of inns anymore."

"Hal has offered a small home for us in the Rookery if we want it, for the time being" Azune says, "humans don't normally live there but given how unexpected this was it will take time for me to put in for a home befitting our true station."
He is praying the Council won't use it to deny him what is his right.

"We won't have to rush. For one it is still early in my pregnancy. Part of why my sister wants us to hurry. She thinks if we are clever no one will be the wiser and outsiders will simply...think we got carried away on our wedding night." Colleen chuckles pressing a kiss to his jaw.
"I have my doubts about that. I, unfortunately, have a reputation for being....bawdy."

Azure chuckles and turns slightly into her to nuzzle her gently. "Well I will follow your lead on that since until before I met you I didn't do much of anything bawdy/ I might have some catching up to do."

"We'll work on it...I plan on becoming even more familiar with you. We have forever for all of that."

Azure cannot say forever to her yet. He knows how short life is having gone to war so young, but he knows this is forever no matter how long forever for them lasts. And there will be their children...powerful...strong, the continuation of their bloodline and their legacy, all things he could only dream of. The start of a new House.
"I would like to get more familiar with you too," he says with a smile.

There are things going on. Colleen can tell that if she is not careful that the threats she can see starting to loom will get too close. It might be better just to plan to watch Azune's back. He might need her to be clever for them both. It certainly helps that she thinks he is charming and smart.
