He’s not going to get over waking up next to Lois Lane anytime soon, that much is clear. Clark may not ever get over it, he thinks—he doesn’t want to, mornings with her are a marvel, learning her little habits, learning what kind of breakfast she likes. Getting to see her face first thing. They’ve had a few nights together since that first one, and he still feels like he’s riding on a high greater than the first time he flew. It’s incredible. He’s not sure what his face does at work when he sits across the bullpen from Lois and tries not to turn and look at her, but hopefully he isn’t being too obvious.

It’s just the two of them in her apartment this morning, so Clark doesn’t have anything to hide. He wakes up first and at an early hour (growing up on a farm made him into a habitually early riser), on his back with the sheets caught around his waist, and light just starting to come into the room through the windows. He turns his head to look at Lois, feeling a faint but irresistible smile that comes over him when he sees her still asleep, and reaches out a hand to her, just brushing his knuckles over the curve of her shoulder.

No, he never wants to get used to this. Never wants to stop feeling this way when he sees her.
