( She turns towards him like he'd hoped she would, those expressive wide eyes captivating in the evening light. Jinu does not really know what he wants to say, feels something stupid line up on the tip of his tongue. For the first time in a long time his head is blissfully silent, and that's a little terrifying in its own way, like he isn't quite sure who he is without that constant voice. His next steps feel uncertain. He should let her go, they've made their promises and it's time, and yet Jinu's feet take him closer in a clumsy little jerk, hand reaching for hers again. Her fingers feel cold. It's late. He wraps them up in his without another thought. )

Could you stay? ( Ah, it sounds too earnest. His hand spasms like he might think to let her go but doesn't. ) Just for a little while. I know the show is tomorrow. You need your rest, but I -.

( This feels important in a way most things haven't. It's been such a long time since Jinu felt even remotely close to a feeling other than dread, and he finds himself wanting to cling to it. [It's been days, maybe weeks now since a certain edgey hedgehog has come by the home of the Wachowski's. Where he goes, only he knows, but he never stays in one place for too long. And yet, he always ends up coming back to Green Hills. There's nothing here though, just people going about their rather slow and simplistic life, nothing that matters to him.

Except three other space aliens that have made this place their home. A place that accepted them. And maybe that's what keeps bringing him back here. To understand what made this place unique. If it truly was a home for them.

Everytime he comes by the home, he has yet to be proven otherwise. There was always a warmth to be found in the home, be them playing games, having a meal together...even when the humans get upset with whatever antics they get into that day, they never intend to harm them. He shifts on the branch he was sitting on, staring distantly into the attic window. He tends to come visit at night, the darkness obscuring his presence, and sometimes other things.

Wherever he had been and whatever he was doing before this, his fur was a bit scuffed and more unkempt than usual. Beneath the fur, hiding some fresh bruising that were still healing. Anyone with a good sense of smell, or get close enough to him, there's also a faint scent of ash coming off him.]

[While it was rare for Sonic to be left home alone, it wasn't completely unusual. It wasn't that they didn't trust him, even if the times they left were often tinged with a hint of apprehension. Trouble seemed to find Sonic more often than not, after all.

Thankfully, it has been a couple of more or less peaceful months, so Tom and Maddie seemed to be more lax about the whole thing. Tails had finally convinced them to take him to a NASA Expo, and while Sonic was naturally curious about most things, science-heavy events weren’t exactly his scene. Besides, this way, Tails could have the opportunity to gush to Sonic for hours afterward about everything he'd seen, complete with excited rants and technical jargon Sonic barely understood but always enjoyed hearing.

Knuckles had also passed on the opportunity to attend, preferring instead to spend his night with Wade, continuing his quest to uncover more mysteries of the so-called "Man Cave".]

[He was laying on his bed, practically upside down, with his legs propped up against the wall and a book held in front of him, and Ozzy lay comfortably at the foot of the bed. While it wasn't often that one would catch Sonic reading something other than a comic book, once a story grabbed his attention, he found it hard to put down. It was a quiet night, but he had plans to go downstairs later to watch movies and eat junk food until the break of dawn-- or until he eventually passed out, whatever happened first.

He was only pulled out of it when Ozzy suddenly sat up and barked, springing off the bed and walking straight to the window. The dog propped himself on the windowsill, staring intently at something outside.]

Ozzy? What's up buddy? Is the squirrel back?
