Then again, with level of resentment that befell them, it was still audible with faint, careful breathing. Loki was all too keenly aware of those things, along with his pounding heart and the heaviness that found his legs. He knew Lady Sif—his wife, rather—didn't like him. He entertained a whim that told him that started when he took her blonde hair from her all those years ago. And now they were wed, as if them marrying would mend the ties broken between Asgard and Jotunheim. He knew it wouldn't, and he had a feeling it didn't agree with Sif either; their marriage was political.

So he stood at the door still, arms tucked behind his back with hands still pressed to handles, as he looked to the floor. Where did he go from here? The tension was thick, or so he thought.
