[ With her job, Firefly can't exactly take scheduled breaks. Only Elio knows when the next parts of the script are going to come in, and he likes to keep the Stellaron Hunters on their toes: a new mission could get sent to her at any time, anywhere.

She's been through so many planets lately that she's struggling to remember their names, one IPC-aligned world after the other. They start to look the same after a while, especially the ones that take on the IPC style. Strictly speaking, it's not safe for any of them to be anywhere near the IPC, but Silver Wolf has them covered, running point on every street camera and every corporation's watching eye. And it was on the latest of those planets that she'd run into the Astral Express once more, a pleasant surprise.

And so, Firefly had lied. She'd told everyone she needed Stelle for Super Important Mission Stuff, but had just dragged Stelle to a nearby diner because she needs to just sit and eat and relax for thirty minutes. She'd learned the importance of taking the occasional break back on Penacony, though it's a lesson she still struggles to remember.

And here, over an ice-cream sundae that's bigger than her head and a yellow-beef burger beside it (look, she has a very fast metabolism), Stelle has a way of looking at her that just... bores right through her. Those golden eyes, peering right past the friendly veneer and Her Majesty's soldier's staight-shouldered stance. She's not a clone, with Stelle. She's not the Iron Cavalry. She's not SAM. She's just Firefly. ]

[ Firefly scoops some popping candy from the sundae onto her spoon, and holds it out for Stelle. Mostly because it really is good, but also because... being seen like this is a little mortifying. ]

First meeting after being a couple!

[Fourteen hours in a plane to Korea was torturous. It was torturous because Clark could fly there himself in a fraction of the time. And when that was time he COULD be spending with Rumi, who was the most amazing, wonderful, incredible, beautiful, smart, funny, talented, and lovely person ever it felt SO LONG.

He had babbled on the flight. No clue if the older woman next to him understood much of what he said because he was meeting his girlfriend for the first time since they'd been official but he'd told her. And the flight attendant. And the small child leaning over the seat in front to look at him.

By the time the plane had landed he was a wreck. An excited nervous wreck because... Rumi. His girlfriend. Who he hadn't seen since she became his girlfriend. Who didn't know he was an alien from another planet that wanted to invade this planet but he had nothing to do with that because he came here as a baby.

But Rumi. He was going to see Rumi. Even if he was so nervous he bounced his leg enough that he accidentally caused a little turbulence. It was fine. Everything was fine. He just shuffled off the plane and through the passenger gate looking overtop everyone to see if he could spot her. Because even if he was nervous and excited and scared and everything else... being those things with Rumi was better than being anything else without her.]
