into each life some rain must fall.

caught in the rain
it started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. time to find cover. nothing much to do but to wait it out.
scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.
i. WHERE;
001 PLAYGROUND - well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of.
004 THE BEACH - not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm.
005 WILD CARD - anyway you want it.
ii. HOW;
001 TREE - not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - most conventional... kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - not permanent, but it'll have to do. good luck.
004 BAG - well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - you know what. you're a rebel. you don't need cover. screw convention.
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it.
iii. WHY;
001 REJECTED - welp. rejection sucks. and no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - for the bus? for someone else? for some revelation? what are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - is everything going your way? are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? just singin. singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO RAIN.
006 WILD CARD - anyway you want it.
>> POST with your character
>> TAG others, use rng if you need to, or just make up your own scenario if you want!
>> HAVE FUN.

So. Here Minato was. He had been caught in the rain before, and the last time that happened, he came down with a very bad cold that left him bedridden for a couple of days. Perhaps he should've known better than to go out without an umbrella again. It wasn't a typhoon this time, but it had been raining hard enough that he was bound to get sick again.
On the way back from school, and after hanging out with Maiko at Naganaki Shrine, Minato had been on his way back to the Dorm. He had her go home since it was starting to sprinkle, and by the time he left the Shrine, he ended up taking shelter at a nearby park since it started to pour. All he had was a newspaper someone had left on a bench and a tree to keep himself dry. Not really a successful attempt, but it was something.
He could wait for the rain to pass, which is what he planned on doing. The rain shouldn't last for too long. He could hope.]

After changing into his outdoor shoes at the locker, he shouldered the umbrella and headed out the entrance. Briefly, Akihiko considered shirking the protection and just running home for extra practice, but if he got sick, Mitsuru would surely scold him. Especially since she had already warned him about the weather beforehand.
He casually slung his jacket over his other shoulder, and started heading back toward the dorm, feeling wet drops pelt down on the plastic material above his head. Along the way, he passed by the shrine, and then the park. Catching a glimpse of familiar blue underneath the black and white folds, Akihiko paused in step, brows furrowing with curiosity.]
......
[He resumed walking, but in a different direction this time. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that it was indeed Minato. Holding a newspaper over his head, that was surely getting thoroughly soaked from the relentless rain. Maybe he had forgotten to bring along an umbrella?]
Hey, what're you doing out here? [Akihiko immediately extended the umbrella toward the younger teen, because really, a newspaper wasn't going to offer adequate protection for very long.]
no subject
He looked up when he heard that familiar voice and saw who it was that approached him. He smiled a little, grateful for the offer of the umbrella and for the concern, but he gently shook his head. He was already soaked from the rain, and he didn't need Akihiko to be the same way.]
Waiting for the rain to pass.
[It was true, he didn't have any other ulterior motive.]
What about you?
[He didn't see Akihiko after school as often as he did his other friends due to club activities, practice, or other obligations on both their parts. It was a nice change whenever he did.]
no subject
And you forgot your umbrella, huh? [He shook his head just then, sending rainy drops flying everywhere from the ends of short silver strands.] Our club meeting just finished. You can take this, if you want. [Making a gesture at the umbrella as indication.] I was thinking of running back to the dorm anyway. And hell, you’re gonna get sick if you stay in wet clothes for too long.
no subject
He nodded since everything Akihiko said was true, besides the fact that he forgot to bring his umbrella. He hadn't forgotten. He just didn't think of bringing one in the first place.]
... Don't get sick yourself, Senpai.
[He said it good-naturedly, and maybe with a slight edge of teasing plus deadpan. He was concerned for Akihiko's health too. Who said that senpai could only look after kouhai and not the other way around? And besides, he was also the leader (although he hadn't exactly considered himself field leader all the time in every situation) and he should take care of his friends too.]
no subject
[Akihiko smirked in response to his remark, and fired back.] I don't plan to! I've gotta stay in shape so I can be a part of the combat team, right? [Whenever SEES went into Tartarus, he was always eager to take part in the exploration. Even when he got tired, he still pushed himself, until Mitsuru essentially forced him to stop. Or Minato, by way of leader's command.]
We should get going, though. Take a hot shower once we're back in the dorm. I think miso soup might help too.
no subject
[Minato smiled again. Trekking through Tartarus was better when he had all of his friends with him. He would never want to go alone. But he did have to take care of himself too in order to take care of his team. Sometimes he didn't like to think of it as "his"; they were all equal to him.
But that's right, he shouldn't stay out in the rain for too long.]
Okay. You're going to run back? For training?
no subject
[A confident grin spread over his expression, and he nodded enthusiastically, his face already wet from exposure to the rain.]
Definitely! Hell, I'd take you on in a race, but your clothes are probably weighing you down by now.
no subject
You wouldn't consider that a challenge then?
[Minato was up for this race if Akihiko was. He was already soaking wet. He couldn't get any more so, so he may as well make the best of it.]
no subject
Heh, of course! If you wanna do it, then let’s go!
[It wasn’t irresponsible, right? Getting Minato to return to the dorm faster than mere walking would be good for his health! And had nothing to do with Akihiko’s obsessive desires to train. Not at all.
Akihiko adjusted his jacket and smirked.] Don’t lose any of your stuff, okay?
no subject
Minato had his schoolbag tucked under his arm now. He nodded since he did want to do this. The sooner they were back at the Dorm, the better. Mitsuru would probably lecture the both of them at this rate, but it would be worth it anyway?]
You should be worried about just losing, Senpai.
[Something about the rain and the weather and maybe the circumstances made Minato a little more competitive and maybe a little more open with Akihiko.]
no subject
Akihiko outright scoffed at his claim. He didn't go out running every morning just for fun. His endurance and motility had improved a great deal over the past few years.]
Hey, don't get too cocky now! Or I'm gonna make you join me on my next run! [Although he wouldn't mind having Minato tag along anyway, regardless of the results of this race.] All right then... Ready? Set... Go!
[And with his jacket flapping through the air behind him, he took off, picturing the train station as the desired destination.]
