Help

HELP ME PLEASE! the meme

We all have something we either can't do, or can't do alone. Luckily there's a meme for that.

HOW TO PLAY

○Post with your character.  Don't put their name and canon in the header.  Instead put something that they don't know how to do and would like to learn, or something they might want help or practice with.

examples: I can't swim • I need to clean this whole house so I can go to a ball and seduce a prince • I'd like to practice throwing pitches with someone

○Look around the meme! If you see someone that you think your character can be of some help to... tag them!

That sounds like a huge pain in the butt. I always feel like the buskers are so brave! I guess I get a little bit of stage fright.

Hmm, think I'd probably prefer acoustic. Something I can just pick up and go.

Then that's gonna be part of the lessons, now. You walked into that one.

Oh, got a few of those. I think there's an old Martin that needs new strings if you want it.

Ah, shoot. Yeah, I really did sign myself up for that, huh?

Strings probably aren't that expensive. Money's not really an issue anyway. I mean, I don't need the fanciest thing, just something of good quality.

Don't worry, I'll go easy on you. Start small.

Then the Martin it is. Lasted me a while, and then ended up with something else in a move 'cause I couldn't be bothered to restring the whole thing before a show.
infinite1ups: ((CD) oh yeah?)

That's good. I don't think I'm ready for Madison Square. [ Lightly teasing, a little self-deprecating. ]

How hard is it to restring? On its face it looks like it might be complicated.

Is anyone really ready for Madison Square?

Not that hard, really. Just didn't have time for it, and then I got distracted.

I think, like, Adele would be. Or Bruce Springsteen.

Oh, I can relate to getting distracted. It's why I've been meaning to learn to play the guitar for literally years now.

Springsteen, definitely. For a live album if nothing else.

Then there's no better time than now! Gets to be an inertia thing, you know? Once you start the ball rolling it'll keep on.

I think I should go to more live music shows. Madison Square or otherwise.

It's a good time to give it a try, I agree. I do tend to jump around from thing to thing, but I think I'll like this.

The best spot is always gonna be the smaller local stuff, honestly.

Just don't worry too much about the calluses.
infinite1ups: ((S3) you're very smart shut up)

I can see the appeal of smaller and more intimate shows, and of discovering new music. There's no doubt a treasure trove of stuff I'm missing out on.

Honestly, I'm the most worried about the whole stage fright thing.

Well, all the shows I play are small ones, so maybe I'm a little biased. But it's definitely a different energy than those big arenas.

Which parts got you? The stage or the people?

Oh, yeah. And I've stumbled in on some good cover bands in the most random little bars in my travels. Though usually I was there either to eat or whatever else, the music was still nice.

A bit of both? But mostly the people, I guess. Having all that attention on me makes me nervous these days. I've laid low for a long time.

Love a good cover band. Most of my stuff is covers, though that's because I usually play folk. Whole genre is covers.

I get that. And there's tricks about staying low even with a bunch of people watching you.
