[ Agnès didn't often visit this particular restaurant, but it was necessary at this point in time. Although she might try some sweet treat and a coffee while she was here. A photograph was held in her hand as she padded her way in, glancing around in particular at the people seated in the area. After a few minutes thought, she approached with a polite smile to the nearest person at a table. ]

Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you, but do you have a minute? I'm looking for someone, and I was wondering if you might recognize them.

[ She cast a glance over her shoulder briefly towards the door, expecting someone to come in after her whether it was a friend or she hoped to see the person of interest. ]

[ It's not chilly and only a little rainy, but Agnès still came dashing into the restaurant with remarkable haste, as if she were trying to avoid someone or something. The fact that she scoots herself into the same table currently occupied by someone, where it wasn't as easily seen from the window might also give that thought. Realizing she was not alone at the table though, she looked a little sheepish, reaching for a menu. ]

Do you mind if I sit here? I know it's an imposition, but with your permission, I'd like to make up for my rudeness by buying a coffee or a muffin for you if you like?

[Tian Ming had just ordered a tea with a small Danish. The sudden imposition sets her immediately on edge, reaching into her sleeve for a hidden dagger. The girl's sudden explanation lowers her guard somewhat, drawing to mind moments when the position was reversed and she was the one making this request.]

[A soft smile comes to her face and the blind musician says nothing. She listens to this girl's pulse and the energy coming from the door. Subconsciously she returns to reaching for the blade, but her demeanor is casual and shows no sign of readiness.]

[ Endo has just finished up with some sort of transaction, the nature of which can't be identified from afar. A shady-looking older guy stands and throws some money on the table, presumably for the bill, but the pile of cash is more than a cup of coffee costs — and that's all that sits on the table. The guy looks over his shoulder as he hurries out of the place, as though he might be followed, but Endo doesn't turn to watch him leave. Instead he picks up a menu and begins to look through it. ]

[ She's no stranger to seeing shady transactions go down, but while she was curious, she wasn't going to think much more of it. Maybe put it to the back of her head in case something came up. Passing only a brief glance over her shoulder as the other shady man hurried away, Agnès scanned the room before her attention settled on Endo. ]

[ he's had way too many cups of coffee and is hunched over a tablet and old school notepad at his booth, scribbling away at both with a certain manic energy. he is mumbling to himself under his breath; his hair is a bit flyaway where it's escaping from his hairclips. this is a man who is not entirely well, it seems, as is evidenced when he suddenly sits up straight and jerks his hand away from his tablet, accidentally losing grip of his stylus and ejecting it to a neighboring table, where it clatters to the floor and rolls underneath the seat there.

kaveh turns around, looking utterly disoriented. why is it so dark now? why has he been hit with a sudden overwhelming need to pee when he felt nothing for the last few hours? a creative fit does something crazy to the human body, perhaps — his gaze finally lands on his wayward stylus and he looks oddly stunlocked by it, like he doesn't know what he's supposed to do next. just crawl underneath there, even if somebody is sitting on the chair, like an insane person? hmm... ]

But, you know, on the way to grabbing a table she saw rapid movement and heard the delicate clatter across the tiles, and there's Kaveh looking like a man possessed. Or as she likes to think of him, pinata guy. A smart guy who's more of a friend of a friend but likeable enough she'd help him move a couch if he needed.

Or the boy with two-toned hair and a habit of always being where Roy is not, as if he's utterly disinterested in being around an adult, let alone an authority figure.

It's the last who's meandered into the Denny's alone, tonight, hands shoved deep in the pockets of his school uniform pants and a thoughtful frown on his face, and when he notices Roy, there's a moment of hesitation, like he's considering walking away entirely, before the growl of his stomach decides him.]

[Yelena's objections to their new teammate had subsided pretty quickly, all told - she had been more irritated that Valentina thought she could still make unilateral decisions, really, but she was not going to hold that against Dex himself, and she did have to admit he was a similar type of, to borrow Ava's phrase, 'disposal delinquent' as the rest of them.

Her curiosity, on the other hand, has only grown. It would have been hard to miss Ava's reaction, when the new recruit walked in, or her distinct lack of commentary on the matter, the slight uptick in her self-isolation - although whether the boys caught it as well, Yelena wasn't sure. She wasn't involving them in her little search for more information, so it didn't matter too much to her at this point.

In a lot of ways, Dex was as easy to read as Ava was herself. The primary emotions, or at least the ones she was most keeping an eye out for amongst their team (depression, restlessness, anger, guilt, fear, discomfort, hunger), well, she had not yet worked out exactly which signals went with which, but she'd taken note of what the most frequent tells were. (In a lot of ways, there was frequently a strange sense of familiarity, to the moods and signals and things she saw play across his face. She was not examining that, yet.) When he was about to start playing with sharp objects or throwing things, or both, had been one of the easiest. So, yes, she is going to start cutting up her waffle stack with his steak knife, without comment, and not launch immediately into an interrogation.] Are you sure you don't want a bite of this? I usually go for a savory breakfast as well, but these are very good.
