[Humans, read this.]

What is love, exactly? And why do people feel it?

[Pleakley and Jumba once spent an entire episode trying to figure this out. All they ended up with was a glass of weird sludge.]

It's...complicated. It's someone who you have particular feelings for and they have those feelings for you back. That's the easiest way to define it.

There's also more than one kind, I think. Romantic, family, friends.

Romantic love is what confuses me. I mean, what makes it different from friendship? And why are people so intense about it?

I think the answer to that one is complicated too. I'd say marriage is part of it, but my parents love each other and had me without an official marriage, so...

As for why people are so intense about it, I think that's something you only really understand when it happens to you. But that's only a guess.

Oh, definitely not marriage. Where I come from, arranged marriage is common! So it's not tied to marriage.

...If you only understand when it happens to you, then how could someone even tell it happened to them???

Arranged marriage is common where I come from, too. It's often done for politics among important families, to seal alliances or reach other goals.

It hasn't happened to me yet, so that's something I'll probably have to find out.

I managed to just narrowly escape it! So now I actually have a chance to find out what love is, at least...

I wish you luck in finding out what it is. It's not an issue I have to deal with just yet, though as I grow older it likely will come up.
