Hey. It's going to be alright.

[ Annie offers a sort of side-hug to the younger kid who is in the dark cell with her. There is a small group of them. Annie is the oldest looking to be closer to being a young woman.

These kids look like they have seen better days. Dirty and covered in mud with unfamiliar clothing and heavily accented Basic. They don't fit in here.

However, no child belonged in this place. An illegal slave market was not the place for children to end up. Not that they had a choice but Annie is trying to figure out a plan since there's no going home.

Home. It would be nice but she was pretty sure hone was gone. She just had to lie her ass off,get the other kids out, then figure out a long term plan.

Easy as pie, right? ]

[From the moment his braid had been cut by Master Lune John had had a talent with younglings. Maybe because he had been so young when he'd made Knight or maybe because he had an impish nature that appealed to them, he'd been one of those sent out to find Force sensitive children and bring them to the Temple. It gave him a sixth sense even now of when young ones are in trouble.He'd heard a rumor that there was a market for children here and he was determined to see it shut down even if it brought great risk to him. He didn't know how many Jedi were even left now. But he couldn't sit by and not help.]

[Finding the market was easy enough and he moved through it quickly, cages quietly unlocking with no sound as a man in a dirty coat with dull blond hair moved through head down and body tense. He'd managed to hoodwink the guard at the gate easily enough but it would take long for stronger minded guards to catch wind of what was going on.]

Quick as you can kiddos...quick as you can out and gone.

[His voice is low and calm as he encourages the kids to run.]

[ Annie just pauses long enough to scoop up the smallest of the group. The child looked to be incredibly young especially when held tight against the young teenager.

The other kids are quickly moving. They don't know who John is or if he is safe but getting out was their collective goal. ]

Stick together! James, keep an eye on Sean. His leg.

[ Annie is obviously the one who took charge. One of the kids had an untreated injury and so the large stocky one, probably James, helps to support the other kids. ]

[John isn't keeping count of the ones who can run. But he is keeping count of the ones who can't. There is a tightening to his jaw as he sees how young some of them are and he is thinking of ways to carefully burn this place to the ground so that this can never happen again.]

Be careful Jonthan....you know those thoughts turn toward the dark don't you?

[He shakes his head slightly at the words of Master Lune and turns to the hurt child. With sure hands he sneakily heals those who need it. Just gentle brushes with his hands to make sure they can keep up. He then turns to the teenager who seems to be in charge.]

Quick and quiet now...I'm going to take you to people who can help you stay safe.

[ Annie says nothing directly to John. She is just suddenly uncomfortable with him for an instant. It was something in his picture or something that was there for a moment.

Then it was gone and that bothered her more than she wanted to say right then. Instead she just adjusts her hold on the youngest kid. It is all about keeping the kids safe. ]

Okay.

[ She considers telling him a little more. Maybe not right now. ]

We're not.... Really from around here. Getting home wasn't going to be in the cards. I just promised to keep us safe.

[John feels that odd little shiver and he studies the teen a moment but then the feeling is gone and he is focused on keeping the kids moving.]

These people I'm taking you to are good people...they'll find safe homes for everyone.

[And then John will be off again to help the next person the next poor soul.]

[ Annie just shoved the feeling down. It was better to focus on the other kids. She wasn't picking up that any of them were uncomfortable aside from the boy, Sean, only when she looks at him? He seems okay.

She says nothing about that. ]

Then...it should be okay.

[ She doesn't fully relax but some of the tension she carries releases. It's like she just stopped holding her breath. ]

Good. They have food and refreshers and comfy beds.

[John knows what the kids are going to care about and it's basic needs]

What's your name kiddo? Don't want to be calling hey you if I lose track of you.

[ Annie feels better knowing someone has a plan. That and a comfortable bed? Practically a gift from the Force. ]

Annie. That's what they've been calling me. My full name is a mouthful in Basic. This is Allie.

[ She nods at the young child she has taken charge of. Annie decides right then that lying her ass off about her relationship with the young child might help keep them together. Annie knows a few of the old secrets of her hone planet. Things that make it harder for little girls. ]

She's my little cousin.

[ From a certain point of view. One might consider many of them cousins. ]

[ dusting this guy off for the occasion! for those unfamiliar, uli's a 19-year-old surgeon from tatooine—a prodigy from a long line of doctors and scientists—drafted into the GAR to serve at a RMSU unit (space M*A*S*H). the duology he comes from is basically a vietnam war allegory (it's very redgum_iwasonly19.mp3) set in the star wars universe and is pretty dark and realistic in tone as opposed to being about flashy bloodless space battles; i'm mostly interested in playing out the psychological toll of the clone wars on all parties involved. particularly interested in threading against clone characters given that he sure does have some feelings on that! would love to ship against a barriss but otherwise only looking for gen - he's canonically still in some kind of love with her long after 66 :S happy to write the starter! ]

[Former ISB agent who depending on the era could be convinced to turn Rebel or could be chasing down Rebels or in the New Republic Era being forced to go through the reclamation program.]

[ available either as a ltcdr in the republic corps of engineers during his much wilder years as a young thirtysomething architectural/aerospace engineer in the clone wars or during the later death star years, just specify! if in the clone wars, he's very likely to try and make a pass at the other party regardless of whether or not he feels attraction to them if he thinks it will get him whatever it is that he wants; during that era, he comes with warnings for drinking, recreational drug use, etc.

please see notes on characterization re: ASPD. sadly i still haven't seen andor for the time being but i play him with the rest of the lore including the books in mind. happy to write the starter.

my dream threads for this would be —
during the clone wars: his noncombatant ass getting pinned down under enemy fire with an actual combatant character equipped for the situation and getting shot at for the first time in his life - which would be a wild power reversal he wouldn't like considering his rank, trying to emotionally manipulate and/or seduce jedi characters to get what he wants or just for the thrill of the trophy, and generally just being very calculating and conniving in military bureaucracy situations
during the death star years: throwing himself at galen because galen getting married just means "try harder" to him, anything complicated with jyn due to the mutual connection and him canonically despising her mother, Mind Games TM and internal strife over the death star with other imperials, especially ysanne or tarkin! ]

Written originally for a friend group's SW game set about a century after the original trilogy, Rosh was on the cusp of completing his training when Bad Shit Went Down and he ended up one of the most-trained (or at least, the least green) of a gaggle of padawans and Jedi-dropouts trying to deal with a coordinated attack on the Jedi order of their day. He's pretty easily adapted to other series timeline points and scenarios, though. I'm especially interested in master-student (in either direction) or student-student mutual support things, but I'm always open to thread ideas and love being presented with something I didn't know I wanted!]

Jack was good at his job, very good. It's why the ISB had grabbed him right after graduation and refused to let him go despite other departments trying their hardest. He was young, handsome, clever enough to keep his head down despite being from a planet the Empire deemed "useless" And he was loyal...so loyal there was little he wouldn't do if asked.

But that was before Gorman, before he'd stood completely still and watched the Empire mow down innocent people in the name of gaining resources. Deep in his heart he'd known if the Boshane had had anything useful to offer beyond people they might have suffered the same fate. But he'd pushed down any feelings the massacre had stirred up and kept doing his job.

The other thing Jack was good at was tracking Force sensitives. Give him a small amount of information and he can find them sometimes before they even realize they have power. But according to his information this one was different possibly trained and non human to boot. A great prize that if Jack manages to grab them could earn his brother a spot at the Academy. Getting Gray off world was Jack's dream given their parents were both gone now.

Jack snuck along an alleyway carefully and quietly sure his quarry was close. He slowly slides his blaster out of his holster as he moves along. One last job and his brother would be safe and if it meant he felt a little guilty after honestly Jack would find it worth it.

In a multicultural tangle like galactic society--especially its seedy underbelly, under Imperial rule--it's hardly unusual to see people of all shapes and sizes in loose robes moving about via back alleys. Even the massive Imperial forces would be hard pressed to harass every peculiar or vaguely suspicious character keeping their head down. Naturally, that calls for specialists with a knack for identifying and tracking targets of interest.

This one certainly doesn't seem threatening to the casual observer. If they wanted to, they could easily masquerade as someone's pet, at a glance, an impression that stands out even with the information Jack already has. There's little doubt he's dealing with a force sensitive, though, based on the evidence available and his own observations, and one with at least some kind of experience and confidence in their abilities.

It doesn't seem to prevent them from winding up in a dead end among the twisting back alleys, though, with Jack just around the corner at their back.

"Don't move," Jack warns quietly as he moves around the corner, his blaster trained on the force sensitive. He's seen what Jedi can do if cornered and he wants this mission to end nice and easy.

"You have nowhere to go and while I'll make more if I bring you in warm...I can get something for bringing you in cold too."

[Formerly the property of any era's military who might have the bright idea to try fielding an intelligent suit of armor. Arid is primarily on her own side/that of any droids in the vicinity, but could end up working with anyone depending on where her character development is at (and how much free choice she has in the matter).

As a renegade combat suit, she's probably running around doing low-key crime/whatever she can to keep herself running while she hunts down her ex-pilot and works on helping/freeing more droids. When it's convenient and she can get away with it, she'll pretend to be a human wearing the suit. She doesn't think much of most organic beings, but generally isn't hostile towards them.

Unless they mistreat their droids. Then she will absolutely go out of her way to make trouble for them.]

[Pilot for hire, best known for his down-to-the-minute rescue operations. This is on account of being Force-sensitive, with those abilities skewing mostly towards premonition and seeing the course his actions will take.]

[Nico left the order a few years before Order 66, after the death of his Master and with no other Master able -or willing- to take him on, he was still young, but also bold and full of questions. He would have been folded into some kind of support position at the Temple, but he wouldn't have accepted that, especially while also being told that he shouldn't mourn.

So he'd left before he could be exiled, because at least that way he could pretend that it was his own idea. He'd had help getting off-planet, thanks to a long-standing friendship with the one human waitress at Dex's Diner. She -and Dex- helped get him set up with a new name and a job, even a place to stay.

Mama -his new employer- had an even more checkered past than Dex did, but that didn't bother Nico -now Nicky- any, especially since that was what kept him safe on an almost-backwater planet in the mid-rim, just off the shipping lanes.

Alternately: He's part of a group of guns for hire, they're good at what they do and selective about it. Absolutely a dyad with Joe (or something of the sort) and in this scenario, formerly one of a small sect of Force-adepts who believed their pain could take away the pain of others and that the Force-attuned trees were the source of all life in the galaxy.]

[Senator's daughter who may or may not have some latent Force-abilities and was recently held captive for a time by a would-be Sith lord who wanted her as an apprentice.

She's since been rescued, and is, by all appearances, trying to get back to normal life again.

[A former soldier gone scavenger. He's got a small shuttle of his own and mostly travels the Outer Rim and the edge of the Uncharted Regions. He's been on the wrong side of planetary law and on the wrong side of a handful of mob bosses, but he's always managed to pull through.

If we're going just post Jedi-purge, he probably helps along a leg of The Path when he can.]

[Waitress at a fairly well-known diner on one of the Core Worlds. She's also got ties to the local underground and will help you out with more than a slice of pie and a cup of caf, if you know how to ask and have the cash to cover her finder's fee.]

[This version is a Force-user, raised and more-or-less trained by his ma', he's a gun for hire and mostly stays out of the fight except by way of occasionally waylaying a First Order supply shipment and getting it into the hands of people who can get it into the hands of the Resistance.

[Former Mandalorian, dar'manda by choice. Riley was the first of her clan that fell, but the rest of them did too, and she couldn't do anything but watch.

She lives a quiet life out on some rim-world, armor packed away on the off chance that she's called upon to aid the mand'alor, not that she thinks that's ever going to happen, they haven't actually had a leader for as long as she can remember.

She takes in the occasional stray, sometimes runs an occasional bounty or smuggling job, but mostly just tends to her garden and lives a quiet life.]

[He's a reasonably well-known musician, but more than that he's something of a soldier of fortune, mostly by way of smuggling, but also by way of transport. Not slave trade, but being known in certain circles as the go-to guy if you need to get off-world quickly and discreetly. While he isn't a Force-user himself, or even particularly Force-sensitive, he is still oddly in tune with the Force, usually by way of uncanny luck.

Depending on the timeline, he may be one of those helping along The Path, otherwise he's just a friendly face and a good getaway driver, as it were.]

[Space-P.I. gotta be a thing right? He's probably got some level of Force-sensitivity, something that would account for his skill with a bat (and a blade), the reason why some people think he's dead, and also the reason why he's survived every impulsive decision he's ever made.]

Except she failed her test and should have died (maybe even did die, for a short time) but was found by her father -a Nightbrother and therefore a Force adept in his own right- who'd had True-sight visions of an oncoming storm.

He got her off the planet before the Purge, if barely, and she fell in with a gang of pirates/mercs for hire and while she initially a hard time adjusting to the wider galaxy they were a great help with that and she still considers them friends and allies, even though she has since struck out on her own.]

[Soldier turned courtesan. Might be working freelance or at a house, prefers middling to long-term contracts, but he's not against playing arm candy (and maybe bodyguard) for the night, either.]

[One of a small group of mercs/guns for hire, possibly a former Guardian of the Whills (or something like it) and 100% in a dyad situation with Nicky. He's either got some kind of latent Force abilities or is just low-key about them in general.]

[So obviously Space Detective is a thing, right? It's gotta be, somewhere. More than that though there are so many different versions of what escaping Hell is in this universe I can't even pick one.

Regardless he's middling-to-high Force-sensitive, I would think, one of many reasons he's not good with people and exceptionally prickly when speaking to anyone. It's undoubtedly the reason he was in Hell (whatever that happens to be) and also how he escaped, and definitely part of how he's so observant.]

[Definitely some flavor of Mandalorian. Perhaps one who had a fall from grace, but sometimes-unlikely protector of those who need it (and maybe can't protect themselves) with a habit of adopting kids in the middle of a fight? It fits!]

[Alvis is a member of the Akari priesthood, a sect of mildly Force-sensitive ministers who worship the Force-sensitive trees, believing they are the root of all life in the universe.

They're an interesting sect, in that they believe that their pain can bring others absolution, ritual scarification is not uncommon, and they are often derisively referred to as 'scarbacks'. It is polite to refer to them as 'aunt' or 'uncle', though they generally refer to each other as 'cousin'. They're a wandering order, mostly found in the Outer Rim, but sometimes even as far as the Core Worlds, identified generally by yellow traveling robes, and often by the assortment of spiked rings or bracelets they wear.]
