The (possibly AU) Sibling Incest Meme

Incest is, despite its taboo nature in most societies, actually a pretty popular convention in both romantic fiction and works of a more erotic bent, in everything from period or fantasy pieces to series taking place in places like modern day Japan. Still, the most common configuration in these fictions are the pairing of siblings. Perhaps this is because of the usual lack of age difference and power dynamic that exists in child/adult relative pairings, though this is not always the case. Because of this, a sexual or romantic relationship between siblings can almost seem, well, romantic in the right light. Of course, more often than not, there's a dark side under the veneer of forbidden love.

This meme is for those who would like to play out that, either the darkness or the light - or both.

1. Feeling Strange: You've known this person your entire life, yet lately you've been feeling...different about them. These feelings aren't exactly familial, either.
2. Not as Normal Families: Whatever the specifics of the case may be, your childhood was not the norm, and thus the two of you have grown close that way.
3. Raised Apart: Scientists believe that when siblings are raised together under normal circumstances, they will not find each other sexually attractive; however, if they are reared apart, they may be highly attracted to each other when they meet as adults.
4. Only Kin by Name: Psuedo-incest between step siblings or adopted siblings is not quite as taboo, but you could still be looked down upon for harboring those desires for someone who is a member of your family by one way or another.
5. Defender: One of you is older and has always looked after the other, meaning that something has grown between you that is thicker than any blood.
6. Guilty: You feel terrible for these longings toward your own flesh and blood, and you do your best to stop them. But can you choose who you want to be with? And how disciplined are you when it's someone you care for in other ways?

23. Not Really Related After All: Perhaps the most cliche of tropes, though it's often used to "justify" incest. Turns out the two of you aren't really siblings! Now, you can pursue a relationship freely.
24. Part of the Same Whole: You're meant to be together, you firmly believe it.
25. Sick and Twisted: The fact that you two are siblings actually is a kink/fetish for you. You get off to all of this.

Sam doesn't have words for how perfect this is, laying tangled close to Dean, listening to him breathe and feeling him shift comfortably beneath him.

The laugh helps and Sam chuckles in return, catching him in a kiss. If Dean had shut down, rolled over, done anything else he probably would have panicked. But that teasing grin? That's better. So much better.

"You better. I don't plan on giving this up anytime soon."

Dean just... couldn't do that anymore. He kept losing too many people, kept losing Sam and he couldn't do that again, especially not because he freaked out and tried to sweep this under the rug.

Especially not when Sam wanted this, really wanted it. He wasn't just playing along to keep Dean fighting - at least he didn't think he was.

He smiles into the kiss, tightening his arms around him. "Remember you said that, Sammy... gonna hold you to it."

One hand came up to comb through all that too long hair and brush it away from his face. As much crap as he gave Sam over it, he kinda liked it long.

That smile faded after a moment, his expression sobering. "You need to get through these trials, you know. I need you here and I need you safe. Meant it when I said I want you to die of old age, man."

And while he'd gladly take whatever Sam gave him, he wasn't sure he could bring himself to believe that if they really ended this, closed up Hell, that Sam wouldn't go off and find himself a nice girl, have a bunch of kids. That'd be fine though. Dean'd be satisfied with whatever happened if Sam was happy.

Sam wanted this, wanted it more than he'd thought possible. There was no guile in his smile, or the way he leaned into his touch.

"I know Dean. And I meant it when I said I saw a way out. You and me, same as it's always been. We're gonna get through this." His arms tighten possessively around him because this? This was the best reason for living he could possibly think of. Finally having this with Dean.

"If I'm doing the whole normal life thing after this, you're coming with me."

It was a weird day when Dean realized he was going to Hell.

Again.

Because the weird feelings that had been growing at the back of his consciousness, but that he had forced away because...wrong. Totally, totally wrong. But when Sam emerged from the shower that morning after a particularly trying hunt, looking exhausted and ready for some sleep, he couldn't push them away anymore.

He stubbornly opened his laptop and clicked to Busty Asian Beauties, but that did little to keep his eyes from wandering back to Sam as he moved around the room.

Dammit to hell.

Things had changed. For better or for worse though, Sam wasn't sure.

They'd just changed.

The way he looked at Dean wasn't strictly brotherly anymore and it hadn't been for awhile. He wouldn't tell him. He couldn't because that would mean everything would be messed up and Sam couldn't have that, not again. Disappointing Dean was something he hated doing, even if it seemed like he had a penchant for it sometimes.

So those thoughts were firmly tucked away as he moved around the room to get some clothes.

He was set to go to bed and get some shut eye. Well... at least until he gave an idle glimpse at the laptop Dean was at. He glared half-heartedly. "Dean, gross... Can you not do that while I'm awake?"

It wasn't until late at night, when most of the guests had had a glass or two too much to be all that attentive that Regulus got a chance to get Sirius alone. He had been hiding out in the empty study, most certainly not brooding or sulking or nursing his wounded pride and even more wounded heart, when he caught sight of Sirius wandering by.

Regulus had decided hours ago that the risk of confronting Sirius at the party was too high and a few hours later that he couldn't stand to look at him, never mind talk to him, not even when they got home. He had also decided that Sirius wouldn't even notice the difference, for he had not missed Regulus all evening long. Sirius used to hate these fancy pureblood affairs which were supposedly for socializing purposes, but were in truth intended to arrange respectable marriages. Regulus had hated them, too, and if Sirius could be cowed into coming at all they would avoid doing their duty together. But not tonight...

It was a wholly spontaneous decision. He caught sight of Sirius sauntering around with that charming smile of his and the next moment he reached out to jerk him into the dark room, hissing, "are you done whoring around yet?!"

These affairs were tedious and distasteful and every few minutes Sirius had to stir away from a controversial subject or risk having to punch someone until they stopped talking. He would never even be here if he had a choice, much less talk to these shallow, gold-digging girls and their frightening mothers. He hated it more than anything, and he secretly suspected that being the main reasoning behind Bellatrix' orders.

When he was pulled into the room Sirius was ready for a fight, hand going for his wand, but then he recognized his brother and, well. The next moment Regulus found himself pinned to the door and kissed as if kissing him could somehow erase everything he had to do today, lately. It certainly helped to make him forget it, as he wasn't thinking at all for several seconds, focusing on Regulus' taste, his feel, his body as he pressed against him.

But then his brain caught up to him and Regulus' words registered, so he was blinking in confusion when he pulled back. "What in Merlin's name are you talking about, love?"

Well... That wasn't what Regulus had expected.

He stared at Sirius in the dim light that filtered from the hallway into the room, stared at him as if he had grown a second head. There was the kiss, which had come utterly unexpected and well, it had been nice, it still had him feeling tingly and... He bit down hard on his bottom lip to shake off these distracting thoughts. No, he couldn't lose himself in the memories, that was how Sirius tried to wriggle his way out of trouble.

"Did you just call me 'love'?" he asked numbly. It was the last thing he should be worrying about but... Well, he was still overwhelmed.

Dean nods stiffly. He's tired of fighting with Sam, he's tired of the tension. He just wants to be with his brother and dammit, he wants to take care of him. Reaching over, he gave Sam's shoulder a brief squeeze. What he wanted to do was pull him into another hug... give him something more actually.

But he couldn't do that to Sam.

Hell, maybe he should. Let him see how messed up his big brother was, what he really thought about him, and then maybe he'd get the hell away from him before Dean got him hurt again.
