[He can't help but feel bad for the kid. Partly, it's because he's been there - shitty dad, violent upbringing, horrible mistakes made with good intent - and it's hard not to look at a teenager in that situation and think Jesus, just don't grow up to be like me.]

I don't know about redemption. But if it exists, I reckon you're on the right track.

I think what I'm learning is that redemption isn't something you just receive once and keep forever, it's a path you have to choose to walk every day.

I don't know. Some people would probably say it's never enough. I'm sure I'll be walking on it for the rest of my life.
