Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... HOW TO PLAY: Comment with your character, your prefs, etc. If there are other grooming-related practices or kinks you'd like to include, like shaving, hair washing, mention them! Reply to others!

[ Traveling and wandering through the woods is, conceptually, a great idea. But it also involves an awful lot of dirt, and then there's wolves, and bandits, and deserted soldiers, all of whom make it their problem that you happened to walk through said forest. The freedom of sleeping under the stars had grown old after the first few days, and then the dirt and the blood and everything set in and by the time they finally make it to a tavern (calling it "proper" might be a bit of a stretch; "backwater" was more apt), all Hans really wants is to have a bath and get shitfaced, although not necessarily in that order.

As it works out, it's drinks first, a few rounds of dice, and the sounds of a surprisingly talented bard given that they're in the middle of nowhere. Lady luck is indeed on Hans's side, enough so that Henry suggests gently that perhaps they quit while they're ahead (and before they overstay their welcome). Henry claims he has something to take care of first (smoking meat? drying herbs? some kind of sidequest nonsense, honestly, he wasn't really listening), so Hans wanders off to the baths alone.

Most of the bathmaids are busy, which is just as well. Hans talks a big game about paying for bathhouses'....additional services, but he never does, a fact that remains between him, God, and basically every bathmaid across the country at this point. Besides, he's pretty gross from traveling and killing (sorry to everyone in his immediate vicinity, he'd done his best with the water trough), so it's just as well. He just wants to get clean.

When he's stripping though, he catches sight of Jaskier. He's trying not to obviously stare at him, or at least, that he's only staring at him in a way that suggests he's trying to place where he knows him from. It's hardly polite to stare at strangers in the bath, but has he mentioned he's been on the road for days now? ]

Hey, you're--you're the bard from earlier, aren't you? You're really quite good, actually.

[ "actually" is probably not the best way to compliment someone, but it's the thought that counts? ]

[ It's not the first time Jaskier's been stared at in a bath house, and it certainly won't be the last. He's paid for certain 'services' offered by them before, though none of the ladies caught his eye this time and they're all busy anyway. Jaskier has no compunctions about paying for it sometimes even if he generally doesn't 'need' to.

He's starting off at a much better point than Hans, anyway. Jaskier got into town fairly early and only had some road dirt to contend with. Not traveling with Geralt, he's got no additional gore. Thank the gods. He probably wouldn't have waited until after his set was finished if that had been the case.

The point is as he tugs his jacket and shirt off and starts on his breeches, he's aware of the feeling of eyes on him, and the only person it could be was the particularly filthy probably-a-noble that came in while he was playing music earlier. Jaskier gives it a few moments and - aha, being called out to.

He gives Hans a slightly flat look, the kind that says that wasn't really a compliment with how he phrased that, but moves on. ]

For such a backwater location? Yes, well, travels can take one all over. You're not from around here.
