I suspect you've never actually done a thought experiment before then cause thought experiments aren't really about that
don't think about how it would make you feel just picture a place that you know would feel safe, if it makes you anxious feeling anxious would probably mess with the actual result
you didn't specify the middle. corner felt safer than being out in the open.
... you said that there was no light source but that i could still see clearly. that implies there's something to see. and since the room is empty, walls are the only thing left to see.

the walls can be further out and you could still recognize that you're in a room without seeing the walls clearly and when I said you can see clearly, I meant that you can obviously see the floor and it's not pitch black??
