[ Izuku, don't ever stop doing that, he'll cry. Katsuki loves it, earnestly wants to return and extend his hand back if not to offer it instead, but he's always internally fighting against it. At least for now, that internal struggle often overtakes him. The idea of taking his hand when he doesn't need it, but deep down wants to. Is a terrible idea that he is still trying to contend with.
When he looks up to something as genuine as Izuku, whom he loves to watch. The way his emerald eyes often glisten excitedly, when the light color on his face blends with his freckles, and the stupid smile that looks back at Katsuki, some part of him knows he doesn't deserve it. Regardless of the forgiveness offered to him, and the time spent between then and now. Even Katsuki finds himself often disarmed inwardly in the presence of something so real; it leaves him unsure how to carry himself.
All of it is always too much for Katsuki, and he wants to smother it until it disappears, contending with what that means. Still trying to figure out how to interact with that feeling.
He was so certain that he wanted to wipe Izuku's existence off the face of the planet, as if he were no more than a stain and proof that he would never be enough. Yet, even in his own fallacy, Katsuki somehow caught the answer, nearly dying on his way there. ]
