[This isn't Peter's fault.

No, actually, it probably is. He's Spider-Man, and that puts everyone in danger. Everyone, even strangers. Because people want to kill Spider-Man, even though he's like the best soul on the planet. It's a thing, and he deals by cutting people out of his life and also being sad and lonely but knowing he's doing the Right Thing so he has to keep on truckin'.

So while he's apparently tied up in a rowboat (what villainy!) with a stranger, he has to be smart about it. And Peter's totally smart, even if he can't get through college (time constraints with being a superhero, you know how it is). He knows that he can't just bust free because he hardly looks like that strong. And it would take a bit to get the chains to bend. He'd be able to do it, but then it would be obvious that he's Spider-Man. Definitely.

Okay, so maybe Peter's not always smart.

He's smart enough to know that a boat with a hole is bad though because the boat is on the water and holes make the water come in and then things sink and then he'll have to really be Spider-Man and his mask is in his pocket and that's not going to help anyone.]

Things were a little...different, with Kurt around. Good different, too.
