so that instead, not much more than half an hour later, he can arrive home. he's a fastidious man, so he doesn't make too much more noise than the lock disengaging when he comes inside. then again, perhaps he is a bit more restless when he tosses his briefcase aside, hangs up his jacket.

in fact, by the time he arrives at the bedroom doorway, his tie is already hanging loose around his throat, and there's an unmistakable heat in his stare as he looks down at her. ]

[ ann is distracted enough that she starts by the sound of his voice, blue eyes lighting up as she rolls onto her side. ]

very bored. it's too quiet when you're not here.

[ she moves to sit up, taking the sheet with her. ]

but, welcome home! did you miss me?

[ even hiding herself with that blanket, she's painfully beautiful. she always is. his eyes linger on her for a moment, taking in the shape of her curves beneath the fabric. ]

Of course I did. Especially when you're misbehaving.

[ he approaches her, slowly, taking his time. but he reaches out when he's close enough, to run his fingers fondly over her scalp, through her hair. ]

( there's still an impish smile ghosting the corners of her mouth though it's replaced with one of genuine affection as soon as his fingers touch her hair. head tilts into his hand, nuzzling into palm with a pouty kiss. )
