How are you going to handle it?

What do:
1. Post with your character! They're now in the middle of a blind date.

First date

-- You've never been out on a date before, so someone's decided to give you a helping hand.

On the rebound

-- You're recovering from a painful breakup, but your friends/family think they found a great person for you anyway.

-- Someone thought you didn't know your date. Turns out you know them from somewhere.

Hideously awkward

-- Hey wait, that's your ex/boss/doctor/distant family member! Or, even worse, it's that person you absolutely despise. This will go well!

Existing partner

-- You two are just acting like strangers to spice up your love life.
6.

Future spouse

-- Unfortunately, you have to have an arranged marriage. Fortunately, you get to meet that special someone for a date beforehand. How will the night go?
7. ...or, instead of rolling, come up with your own scenario!

4. Play out the date. This meme can be completely fluffy, smutty, or hilarious. If you don't want smut, you can put that in your subject. It doesn't even have to be romantic.

[James continues to pat Sirius and enjoy the feel of the thick fur under his fingers. This is his friend. The one he has known for a very long time.]

Enjoying that, Pads? Don't get too comfy now though. [He grinned and gave the dog a few more scratches around the ears.]

[He allows himself to revel in the feeling of having the attention of his best friend again for a few more moments before bounding back into the alleyway and returning in his human form again. This time he's grinning, and claps James on the back when he's close enough.]

It's a relief to see you, mate. Especially since I have this one little problem... I don't know how to get back to where I belong.

Yeah, it's good to see you again too, Pads. Even though I saw you last night in the Common Room. We were playing chess and I beat you fairly. The look on your face though. [He smirked.] Or rather, the younger version of you.

What do you mean get back?

To be honest, you'd probably trounce me in chess now... I haven't played in ages.

[But back to more pressing matters-]

Well, you see... I didn't come back in time on purpose. It was a rather bad accident, actually.

We could have a game if you wanted. [James was just pleased to see this version of Sirius.]

An accident? How can someone fall back in time during an accident? [James gave him a confused expression.]

Perhaps.

[He sighs heavily, wondering how much he should tell James. He obviously can't talk about his death... and mention of the circumstances of his falling behind the veil would ultimately include questions about how this situation arose in the first place. Considering they all involve James' son, that's probably out of the question too.]

Mishandling of a magical item. [A thought does occur to him.] I wonder, if I returned with you to Hogwarts... I could ask Dumbledore about it.

A magical item? [James was itching to know what sort of magical item could cause someone to go back in time. He wanted to ask, but thought best of it.]

Dumbledore knows everything. I am sure he can help you, Pads. [It felt odd talking to this older version of his friend. But somehow, it felt right.] He should be able to help you and maybe get you back in your own time? I guess I shouldn't ask if I keep my good looks when I get to your age.

It's not something you'll have ever heard of.

[In other words, he doesn't want to talk about it.]

Yeah... I'm hoping that's the case.

[Sirius hopes his face doesn't fall too much at James' last comment.]

Time travel rules, sorry. I can't talk about your future at all.

Right, ok. I don't want to bring the whole world down on our shoulders, mate. That could be bad. [He was curious, but didn't want to cause trouble to his friend.]

So, will you visit Dumbledore now?

It wouldn't be a very useful thing to do, no.

[Sirius is relieved that James isn't going to push him for answers. It would be hard denying him, but even more difficult to tell him the truth.]

Whenever you're ready to head back, I'll come with you. After that, I'll give him a visit.

I don't want you to leave, I mean- [James found the whole thing with his best friend older to be fun. He wanted to ask questions regarding his future, but knew he couldn't.]

-it's interesting having you around, Padfoot. I mean, as you are. Older. Wiser. You've still got the same long, messy hair from your younger self. [He smirked.]
